Question: what kind of battery does this use?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. The battery that comes with this unit is the CR1225. It is a 3V lithium battery. However, you can also use the CR1220-CR1224 batteries as well. Question: Can you replace the battery for this thermometer?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. On the back of the thermometer is a round plate with a groove in it. Unlock the plate and you will be able to replace the battery inside of the unit. Question: Does this have backlit light display to see the readings in the night?
Answer: I bought this thermometer a long time ago but if I remember correctly it did light up. The light is green if the temperature is normal, yellow if low grade and red if high fever. The battery died really quick and I ended up just buying a different thermometer instead of a new battery. -
Question: Can you use probe covers with this thermometer?

Question: Does this comes with a case or just a cap at the tip for protection?
Answer: It has a cap that covers the back and tip but is open around the display. -
Question: can it be set to mesure in C˚ rather than F˚?
Answer: Yes, it absolutely can be switched back and forth between C and F. The instructions: While "off", press and hold the button until the unit displays "Lo." Release the button. You must release the button before the current C/F indicator starts blinking. Then press the button to switch between C and F. Either use the thermometer at that point or turn it off. -
Question: Does the shaft bend or is it firm?
Answer: It bends. A nice softer plastic. -
