Question: Its this company crulty free?
Answer: Pure Encapsulations DGL Plus contains only herbal extracts and does not do animal testing. -
Question: I bought the product. But label does not say how much percent glycyrrhizin is in the tablet. Is it 5% or 10% or 30% ?
Answer: Licorice (glycyrrhiza) root is the dried and ground rhizome and root portions of Glycyrrhiza glabra. Deglycyrrhizinated licorice is a form of licorice that has been processed to remove some amount of glycyrrhizin. Gycyrrhizin has been reduced because it can cause several health issues including: Elevated blood pressure that can potentially lead to stroke Low potassium causing myopathy (muscle disoders) Irregular heart rhythms Pre term labor I personally called Pure Encapsulations and was informed that the amount of glycyrrhizin is =/< 3%. -
Question: How can dgl be effective if it's not chewable? as a capsule, it will not open until it's in the intestines, but it's needed in the esophagus/stomach.
Answer: I took this supplement—1 about 15-30 minutes before each meal—for 3 months for heartburn. I usually emptied the capsule into a bit of water and drank it. Along with avoiding foods that triggered heartburn, not eating within 3 hours of bedtime, breathing deeply and chewing thoroughly when eating, and not overeating, my awful, painful heartburn is gone. -
Question: Is this product low fodmap?
Answer: While this product is not certified low FODMAP, since the ingredients have not been formally tested, the ingredients are not known to contain high amounts of FODMAPs. -
Question: Are these safe for 12 year olds?
Answer: That would be a good question for your Pediatrician. You can overdo a good thing with licorice root. -
Question: More info on capsule size, please? The picture makes them look huge, perhaps 1” long by 1/2” diameter: is this true? How easy are they to swallow?
Answer: I have never had an issue swallowing them - and I've been taking this supplement for more than a decade. Size - around 3/4" x 1/4". They are no bigger than any of the other supplement capsules I take. -
Question: Can the seller please confirm what the percentage of glycyrrhizin is in the tablet?
Answer: Pure Encapsulations - DGL Pluscontains less than 3% glycyrrhizin per capsule, which qualifies it for deglycyrrhizinated. -
