Question: what material are these made from?
Answer: I called Bronson Laboratories, 1-800-235-3200 and was told it is synthetic carbolamin--not from a natural product but my physician and I have been very happy with this particular Vitamin B12. It is the size of a generic aspirin and easy to swallow. You are supposed to take the entire dose your doctor orders at one time with a meal that has protein to aid absorption. I take 2,000 mcg (i.e. 2 tablets at breakfast with eggs, or meat as part of the meal--but you could take it at lunch or dinner as long as you were eating protein. It raised my Vit. B12 blood level from low normal to mid-level optimal in less than three weeks. I have not had any side effects at all--no gas, no stomach distress, etc. I have been taking two of these tablets for over one year after trying others that were the size of "horse pills" that I had difficulty swallowing. The other ingredients listed in addition to the cynocobalamin are: calcium carbonate, microcrystaline cellulose,stearic acid,hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, and silicon dioxide. I recommend this brand of oral Vitamin B12 and my primary care physician has me take 2,ooo mcg daily. Hope this helps. -

Answer: The ingredients are basically mineral ingredients. That should work for a vegan. -

Answer: They don't look coated to me and there is nothing stated on the bottle other than sustained release. I believe you are thinking of Enteric Coated. Enteric coated drugs are coated with substances that will only dissolve in the intestine rather than the stomach. This is due to the harmful effect of these substances on the stomach. "Extended release, sustained release or controlled release all mean the same thing. They are drugs that are released slowly or dissolved over a longer period of time. This way you don't have to take it as often." If you want to be sure, you could call the number from the bottle and ask 800-235-3200. -
Question: I need an energy and weight loss vitamin, will this help?
Answer: Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin thought to help built blood and nerve cells and proteins. It also helps with the metabolism of fats and carbohydrates. The results from taking supplemental B12 may be improved energy. Vitamins have nothing to do with weight loss---- that's all about healthy eating, eating in moderation, and reducing calorie intake. -
