Question: I'm a type 1 diabetic. Would this hold a Dexcom glucose device I wear on my abdomen.
Answer: A friend whose daughter is Type 1 says these hold a pump on well for at least 3 days. Many are getting a week out of it for holding on Dexcom CGMs; a few say it sometimes doesn't last a week. If you want longest lasting possible, try the Tegaderm HP (for Holding Power), which people are getting a couple weeks from. But they're about twice as much ... -
Question: has anyone used this for tattoo aftercare? theres a lot of these kinds of wrappings made for tattoo healing but this one isn't specific to it.
Answer: I use it for all my tattoos and it works great. If you get one with a lot of color work in it then it's best to wait at least 12 hours afterwards to apply it (since the color tends to leak more). During that time I just use regular plastic wrap to cover it. I leave the tegaderm bandage on for usually 4-5 days and all my tattoos have healed great with really bright colors. -
Question: Do any dialysis patients use to cover port?
Answer: My wife uses these to cover her port when getting I'm the pool ocean etc. As long as you don't poke a hole in it, stays dry all day.. -
Question: Are these very flexible and comfortable enough to use in sensitive areas such as the breasts?
Answer: I wear the Tegaderm patch on my abdomen & have no problem in doing so. It is flexible & very comfortable. I have worn the patches for approximately 5 years & haven't had any issues. I would not hesitate to try wearing it on the breast area. -
Question: How many are in a box?
Answer: Beware, the listing reads "50" per box BUT this item is only ONE. I purchased this item on May 31, 2018 and when we contacted the seller (DHS MED) about the quantity missing the reply was that this listing is incorrect and the listing should be for only 1 item. I am very irritated about this "listing error" and as of 6/6/18 the listing still shows "50 per box", the price is now INCREASED and the seller is now a different company. -
Question: The actual size of the dressing?
Answer: The actual size of this item is 4 inches by 4 and 3/4 inches. The package itself is about 5 by 6 inches. -
Question: can you go swimming with it on. I have a 4 year old grandson who loves the water
Answer: My son (also 4), who eats via a feeding port, can swim in pool water or ocean water without any problems. However, doctors said no lakes, streams, creeks or other bacteria laden areas. Someone told us about the Tegaderm dressings and we were only able to find the smaller 2 inch sizes. We use at least 4 or 5 of them each time he goes swimming in bacteria laden areas like lakes this summer. We have a pool but this was his first summer in camp and we hated for him not to be able to participate but we couldn't risk him getting an infection either. After monitoring his first two outings in the lake I feel confident now that these stay well even while he's jumping around like a maniac. -
Question: Is this product latex free?
Answer: Yes. The outer box does not indicate that they are, However, the individual wrapped wrapped dressings clearly identifies that the product is "Latex Free". -
Question: Can I use it with my Omnipod?
Answer: I didn't know what a Omnipod was till I looked it up ,but I do belive it will cover it and keep it dry it worked well for me when I used it to cover a tube that was in my stomach -
Question: Can they be folded without damage for storing in a first aid kit?
Answer: I would not suggest folding In fact I would not suggest using in a first aid kit. I found them to be hard to use. They stick together to easily like a bad roll of scotch tape.
