    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: Does it remove scratches like black lines or spots??

Answer: I had light scratches and some water spots. It removed both.
    • Question: does it clean the cabinets?

Answer: I use it to touch up nicks in hardwood floors, cabinets and wood furniture. I have both the light and dark. It does leave a film so I usually use furniture cleaner after touching up to get a nice clean finish ... Hope this help
    • Question: How to cancel order for old english

Answer: I couldn't cancel, but I sent it back.
    • Question: How to get Old Engllish stain out of clothing?

Answer: Apply cornstarch or baby powder to the stain. Rub the cornstarch or powder in and leave it on the spot overnight. The next day shake out the corn starch. Apply Dawn Dishwashing Liquid on the stain and hand wash the fabric. It may require a repeat of the process. This usually works but some of the stain might remain.
    • Question: what is the difference between scratch cover for light woods and the scratch cover polish for light woods?

Answer: The polish actually shines the wood as well. The one that’s JUST scratch cover only stains the scratches. The instructions clearly state to use a separate polish after using the stain remover only version. The polish helps blend in the stain and make it less dark
    • Question: I have honey oak cabinets and want to darken them just slightly. Would this product do that

Answer: I don’t know about your cabinets, but I have used Old English as a sort of stain to enhance furniture. My own honey oak cabinets have a sheen finish, but it’s possible the Old English would grab into the more exposed grain. Probably best if you try a small area (maybe inside cabinet door) to see if it works for you.
    • Question: What happens when you use the light wood formula on dark wood?

Answer: Haven't actually done it but I would try it on a small area first and see what happens. Might be necessary to follow up with dark formula. Worth a try, anyway!
    • Question: Would this product help with a table with white heat marks? Anyone has had this problem? I tried the iron with a wet towel but it didn't worked.

Answer: it won't work, the only way to get rid of heat mark is to sand and refinish... sorry!
    • Question: What does old english consider a light finish and a dark finish

Answer: I have used the dark on light wood. Didn’t see any change. Just made sure to work good into wood.
