Question: I have very hard water. Does it tackle mineral - calcium, lime, etc? I need to clean out the mineral build up inside my pipes.
Answer: Whirl Out does do some cleanout of minerals, but I'm not sure exactly what, except that it cleans pretty well. The best product I've found so far is called "Oh Yuk Jetted Tub System Cleaner." It has been taking care of our bacterial iron that had been accumulating in the pipes. It dissolves a lot of it, and WhirlOut does too, but not quite as good. I have found using warm to hot water in both the cleaning and the rinse helps. The problem is, for me, that I'm not sure what harsh chemicals I can use or not use in the jacuzzi tub. If I could use anything, I would pick Iron Out. It might sound funny or silly, but for very small corroded items, Efferdent (for cleaning dentures) does an excellent job. I was looking for something to clean a partial, and one of the reviews for Efferdent was a guy who uses it to clean the minerals, calcium, etc, from his toilet. I tried Efferent in the toilet and it actually did a fairly decent job. With hot water, I think it could have done better. Hope these suggestions help. Ingrid -
Question: Does it smell during the cleaning process?
Answer: Not really. There's a VERY mild smell of, well, cleaner, but not a strong disinfectant smell or fake perfume odor. -
Question: Does this product clean the walls of the bathtub itself as well, or only the jets?
Answer: It is really used to clean the jets. It is not a tub, tile or bathroom cleaner. After the first use, there was a ring left behind. My jets must have really been dirty. I always clean my tub after using Whirlout just to remove any film left from the chemical cleaner. -
Question: does is take out biofilm
Answer: I have t found anything yet to totally clean it out. Did okay, but only cleared the smell a few days. -
Question: Is this product liquid or granulated? The one in an identical packaging that I have purchased before was granulated, but this says 22 fluid ounces.
Answer: WhirlOUT is granulated. -
Question: I want to use this for our hot tub. Does this product bubble? I do not want anything that bubbles.
Answer: Yes it does! Every product I have used for our jetted tub has bubbled! This one is just OK. Ahhhsome is a good product also.
