Question: I like it a lot! Somehow it tastes like it has more than 5g of sugar! It doesn't say there is sugar alcohol present. Thanks for your thoughts.
Answer: I have tried numerous snack bars. I am diabetic so I will check my blood sugar levels every time I try a new bar. This bar did raise my blood sugar. The bar had good flavor but I have to avoid it as a result of the blood sugar spike. -
Question: I noticed these contain partially hydrogenated soybean oil. Isn't that trans fat? The nutrition facts list 0g trans fat.
Answer: On top of which there are 5-10 gms of SATURATED FAT in each bar. You have to look at the labels on each box to verify. The daily MAX for saturated fat is like 16 gms. After enjoying these bars for many years and even having one or 1.5 bars per day, my LDL shot up the past couple years. Only thing in my diet that had changed was eating MORE of these bars and buying the super 20-gm protein Power Crunch PRO versions of it. Would I LOVE for the company to re-do the recipe, keep the protein and sugar levels where they are but get SATURATED FAT down to that of competing bars: 0.5 to 1.5gm/bar. Even their website does NOT SHOW the ingredients anywhere. Pity. -
