Question: Is this specified to only be used rectally?
Answer: Geratherm Mercury Free Rectal Thermometers measurement methods are: Axillary- measurement time, minimum 4minutes. Approximately normal temperature 36.7ºC Oral- measurement time, minimum 4 minutes. Approximately normal temperature 37ºC Rectal- measurement time, minimum 4 minutes. Approximately normal temperature 37.6ºC Axillary method provides a less accurate reading than oral and rectal. Question: How accurate is this thermometer?
Answer: It never registered for me. -
Question: How long does it take to get the reading? How accurate is it?
Answer: Hi Leslie, It takes 3 to 5 minutes just like the ole Mercury one from years ago. You even have to shake it down to. In my opinion it the most accurate one on the market. Feel free to ask anymore if you so choose to. -
Question: Does this come with probe covers?
Answer: Geratherm Mercury Free Rectal Thermometer does not come with probe covers. You can clean your thermometer before and after you use it with either rubbing alcohol or lukewarm soapy water, then rinse with cool water. Wipe it dry with a clean cloth or let it air dry. -
Question: Can it be used as an oral thermometer?
Answer: I don't know. I couldn't get it to work at all. Wouldn't shake down. -

Answer: There are manufactured in Germany.
