Answer: 3.5" from inside the crook to the shaft. -

Answer: This cane is 0.91 meter. For a supportive cane, it should reach to the heel of your hand so that you can lean on it with your back straight and your arm almost straight. Measure the distance from the ground to you hand to see whether it is long enough. If it is too long you can cut it shorter, or use it as is. -
Question: Is the tip attachment 1 inch or 7/8 inch?
Answer: mine came without a tip. I bought a 1" tip and is to big. I would think closer to 3/4 inch considering how much excess space there was... it was suppose to come with the tip. I wasn't happy about that. -

Question: One reviewer said it appears to be made of a composite material. It's advertised as being made of wood. Is it made of wood or not?
Answer: The Carex wood cane is made of wood; just NOT one piece of solid wood. My cane has many thin (1/16") layers of wood glued tightly together. When I sawed off 2 1/2" to fit, I quickly learned how firmly glued those thin layers are. Took me a bit longer to saw through them but no real problem. I love my finished wood cane. -
Question: Is this cane real wood? made from composite? laminate?? real hard wood with wood grain?
Answer: I had to cut the cane to make it fit mysize It is real wood, heavily painted. Of several canes I own, this is the most practical and my favorite. -
