Question: It says 1050 mg of goats rue, but then says each capsule contains 333 mg... Which one is it?
Answer: That's a great question! Each capsule or milliliter contains 333mg of dry herb weight equivalence. However, since we use a liquid herbal extract, the 1050mg you are seeing as the amount per serving refers to the amount in liquid form, including the alcohol that was used to create the solution, rather than the dry herb weight. Question: How does this compare to the "Special Blend" version? Is this one better/more productive? Just trying to determine which one to purchase. Thanks!
Answer: Lactation DR. said that I should use goats rue and not the blend because it was specifically what i need for more milk production. I was also taking fenugreek at the time 3pills three times a day. Unfortunately i could not tell you how it worked because it gave a me a terrible headache. I think the headache came from me having bad flower allergies. I would recommend the goats rue alone for the most benefits. -
Question: How many milligrams are in each capsule?
Answer: Suggested use: Take 1 capsule 4 times daily. For women over 175 lbs take 2 capsules 3 times daily. For maximum effectiveness avoid more than 1-2 oz of liquid for 15 minutes before and after each dose. 333 mg per capsu -
Question: How long can it be used?
Answer: I used it as long as I was breast feeding. So In total I used it for 9 months. -
Question: I received an item in which the capsules are damp and sticky. Is that the normal condition, or should the capsules be dry? Thank you.
Answer: Thank you for your question. Motherlove's vegan capsules have liquid in them and sometimes drastic temperature fluctuation can cause a capsule to burst. This can make the other capsules in the bottle seem kind of greasy or damp, as you mentioned. This is not typical and we do not believe that it affects the efficacy of the product. Question: Where is the claim of increased breast tissue based on? I assume it’s based on animal studies, but I haven’t found them yet.
Answer: Thanks for your great question. You are correct in that many galactagogues are usually studied in animal populations first. In fact, the benefits of goat’s rue were first noticed back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s when dairy farmers began feeding the herb to their cows. The milk production of the cows increased significantly and its use grew from there. Although the exact mechanisms for how goat’s rue helps build mammary tissue are not known, there are quite a few resources about its benefits.
