Question: I am confused - is this price for 1 box of 25 or 1 box of 250???
Answer: Each box has 10 probe covers. You get 10 such boxes for the price giving you a total of 250. The reason you get 10 boxes is that each box is sized correctly so that you can pry the tab open and insert the open box into the slot at the back of the thermometer. Each time you take a temperature, you can insert the probe directly into a cover and withdraw the covered probe for application to the patient without the need to touch the probe cover (avoiding contamination) to take it out of the box. -
Question: I'm interested in using these "off-label", for a different probe - what is the diameter of these covers, roughly?
Answer: it is 6 mm in diameter -
Question: where are they made?
Answer: They are made in Mexico and are of great quality. The Welsh Allyn thermometer is top of the line. It is used extensively at Stanford Health Care. I bought it because I wanted a precise temperature reading. It is expensive but worth the money if precision is your # 1 priority. -
Question: will these fit model 420?
Answer: These fit probes, not thermometer itself -
Question: What material are these made of?
Answer: These disposable probe covers are made of a clear plastic compound that allows for temperature measurement by acting as a sanitary membrane. -
Question: Are these the soft flexible covers that can be used on home digital thermometers? Or the hard plastic ones used in doctor's offices?
Answer: They are the same as the ones in the doctors' offices. The soft ones used in digital home thermometers will not give the correct reading. -
Question: Is there an expiration date on box and, if so, what is it?
Answer: There is no expiration date on the box as far as I can see. They are plastic and not edible. I don't believe they expire. -
Question: Has anyone successfully used these with other thermometers or probes? If so, which one(s)?
Answer: No I haven’t , sorry.
