    • Question: do you have to add water to the fiter

      Answer: If you want to catch the dust that escapes thru the dryer's lint filter, yes you need to add water. Do not add too much, though, or the force of the air will cause it to splash out everywhere around it. I actually got in the habit of dampening a tea towel and wrapping it around the vents on top. It was very effective at catching lint and water splashes. Only use this in a well ventilated area. My windows and walls in the laundry room sweat unless I put a fan blowing the moisture out of the room into the rest of the house, but it was great last winter for acting as a humidifier and with a dryer sheet the house smelled fantastic.

    Does a good job just have to remember to keep water in
    My dryer is vented into my garage and this keeps the lint from flying around. Does a good job just have to remember to keep water in it

    does the job
    This does the job but if you want low maintenance use something else, requires water to be filled about every 2 weeks depending on amount of use. But I think that it does allow for better flow and quicker drying.

    Exactly what we needed
    Our dryer was vented through the ceiling of our 2 story house. Needless to say there was not enough power to blow out all of the lint and it would therefore clog. It took 3-4 cycles to dry towels. Now they dry in one cycle. I did not give it a five because I did not realize you have to keep water in the recepticle to keep the lint from blowing out all over the place. And in our humid climate I do not want to produce mold in the wet lint. We really have to keep an eye on it to clean it out and keep it filled with water.

    Works like I expected.
    Came quickly and was easy to install. Would have given it 5 stars except the plastic is terribly thin and I am sure will not last for years like the one my parents had.
