Question: can units be renovated after being scratched etc?
Answer: I've dropped them a number of times. Got a chip on an edge, which doesn't affect its utility. It is pretty hard to damage the glass part of the device. Or the other part. The most likely mishap is it drops and the battery/light part becomes detached, in which case could be glued back together. Though that happened to me once, and I bought another one and use the glass part of the detached unit alone at my desk where the lighting is very strong. That way I'm holding a smaller, lighter weight object. -
Question: Does this have an LED light?
Answer: Yes. I was 99% sure but wanted to check the box it came in, which was in my office, before I responded. Box confirms LED. -
Question: What is the magnification power, please?
Answer: The Eschenbach 14361 Magnifier has a magnification of 2.2x. -
Question: Can any users explain the difference in experience between this magnifier and the model with the extra "wing type" lens on the top?
Answer: I have not used or tried that one; I know it provides a higher level of magnification. In my present condition, the "regular" one works fine. If it's returnable, I would try the regular one first.
