Question: This says iron out and not super iron out. is there a difference??
Answer: I have only used the regular iron out, didn't know there was a super. I am very well pleased with this product and after only one application the rust was gone and has stays away for months!! -
Question: I haven't used mine in a while and now it's hard as a rock. Can I add water to the container and use it as a liquid?
Answer: Chip pieces out with screwdriver & hammer. Continue to break them down. You should then be able make paste as always to remove stains. If you a removing a stain from flat surface, cover with plastic and apply painters blue tape around edges and let sit for 12 hours. Has always worked on even the toughest stains. Sometimes another application is necessary -
Question: Does it remove iron stains from cement side walks ?
Answer: I bought it to remove rust stains from our cement patio it didn’t work very well you have to get it wet and sprinkle the granules on and scrub them in and let them sit for a long time and then about 80% of the rust came out but it took quite a bit of time and effort. -
Question: iron out can remove toilet ring?

Question: Can this powder be mixed with water to use in a spray bottle?
Answer: I tried this with my tap water, which has iron in it. It had a chemical reaction and expanded the bottle considerably. Not recommended. -
Question: Can I use this to clean my washing machine? And if so, which kind would be better to use, powder or liquid?
Answer: I have never used it to clean a washing machine. There are directions for machine washing white clothes so it is OK to use in a washer. I have only used the powder form - so much more for your money. Read the directions! Do not wash colored clothes, do not use with bleach, peroxide, etc. -
Question: Can you use iron out on fiberglass shower?
Answer: Hi Doug. If you want to clean your fiberglass shower use the spray bottle iron out. I give it 10 stars it works so well rust disappears before your eyes. It's AMAZING!!! I thought this was the refill but it was powder it works great in the toilet. -
Question: If added to your wash (white clothes), will it prevent rust stains? Our well water is destroying my clothes!
Answer: Yes it will, much like bleach will do. But use for white clothes only. By the way, my family was using water for ten years up till last year when we bought a new house and moved away from the rusty, hard water. But while we were there, we used iron out to clean the inside of the dishwasher by putting the iron out powder in the same compartment that the dish-washing powder goes, and run the cycle without any dishes. For reducing the iron deposits in the water, we bought a whole house filtration system. Iron Out was a good supplement for cleaning dishes, white clothes (anything that needed rust removed from it). Hope this helps. -
Question: Off gassing.there is a bitter smell that is coming out of my water softener.how long will this last? i added some ironout under last bag of salt.
Answer: I’ve always diluted it in warm water and poured into the reservoir were the float resides. I then regenerate and never encounter any odor. I’ve never dropped the product in a non-diluted stat -
Question: can you put in the softener tank with salt
Answer: I have been doing it since 2001 very successfully. Pour in half the salt, pour in the iron out, pour in the rest of the salt, top it off with iron out.
