Question: Are any of your ingredients sourced in China?
Answer: No from Vermont. It is an organic based formula. -
Question: Is the Iron from food source like Beet powder or is it just regular Iron added to whole food source?
Answer: The iron is from organic food sources and superfoods such as organic spinach and blueberry. It has tons of great organic extracts and it also contains the vitamins necessary for iron absorbtion (vitamins E C B12 and folate) I have tried tons of iron pills and these are the only ones that works for me. Hope this help -
Question: how large is the pill? Is it round or long?
Answer: Oblong tablet, ~20mm (3/4") x 8mm x 6mm. I think it is fairly large and not fun to swallow, but should not be a problem if you are used to swallowing large brown vitamin tablets. -
Question: How much iron is in this product?
Answer: It has 9mg of iron per tablet (50% DV). Also 30mg of vitamin C, 15 IU vitamin E, 800 mcg folate, 30 mcg B12, 5mg Magnesium, and 5mg zinc. Also herbs and probiotics. I like them :) -
Question: Does whole-food sourced mean that you can take this with foods like milk and eggs without inhibiting the uptake of the iron?
Answer: Short answer is no. It means the iron itself is coming from whole food sources. But iron is still iron and is still inhibited by the things you mentioned (and more). This is coming from a long time anemia sufferer and someone whose taken this for years now. The best things about this particular one besides the fact that its whole food based (Im allergic to iron in most any other form) is that its gentle, doesn't cause constipation and has supportive herbs as well as a probiotic to help with digestion. -
Question: are these vegetarian? or are they gelatin tablets?
Answer: these pills are not gelatin. 100% vegetarian. -
Question: how many pills in that bottle?
Answer: 60 pills. Keep in mind that it only offers 50% daily value for iron. I wish I would have looked closer to that detail. -
Question: Can I start off taking 1/2 a tablet?
Answer: You definitely can but why would you want to? It’s a Whole Foods supplement made with foods that are high in iron it doesn’t mess with your stomach or your digestive system when I first started I was taking six a day. I have been anemic for 30 years and nothing would help until I started taking this.
