Question: How well does this work? I'm a teen with a high matabalizum and I'm looking to build mass and bulk up
Answer: I’m nearly 50 years old, but seeing this question I had to comment. Until I was around 32 or so, I couldn’t gain weight no matter how much I had to eat; or so it seemed. I remember not caring whether it was fat or ideally muscle, I just didn’t want to be skinny anymore. Then I hit a point in my life where the metabolism slowed and I couldn’t keep the weight off. That lasted for nearly 15 years and for some reason my appetite suddenly plummeted and now I’m back looking at weight gainers simply to do nothing more than maintain a healthy weight. Just try to keep in mind that human physiology typically prohibits putting on large amounts of muscle in a short period of time naturally. That means that a large portion of quick gains will be fat. Embrace your high metabolism and shoot for a reasonable goal. That said, the more calories you intake in a day that exceeds what your body can burn, the quicker you will gain weight. For the most part, it’s simple math. Total Intake - Total Burned = Energy Stored Primarily as Fat. There are about 3500 calories in one pound. If you were to forge an extra 3500 calories a day, you could theoretically gain 7 pounds a week. For someone like you, that probably means eating 8,000 calories a day. Now as far as this product goes, it’s one of the highest calorie per serving gainers I have seen and it’s much quicker to pound a shake than to eat a steak! Another thing to keep in mind is that supplements that are fortified with vitamins and minerals, have the potential to far exceed recommended safe values for human consumption. I ran into this when I was your age. I was drinking over a gallon of milk a day, milk is fortified with vitamin D and that build up led to some freaky painful headaches in me personally. Too much calcium can also upset your bodies homeostasis and lead to surprising problems. Being young, your body can handle a lot! Just wanted you to be aware of the things I wish I knew when I was your age. If I were young again I would focus on speed, agility and good clean ripped muscle! Shredded muscle always looks bigger than fat muscle. Cheers! -
Question: banana
Answer: I've been taking Optimum Nutrition Protein for close to 20 years and I have tried every flavor and Banana is by far my favorite. -
Question: Does it work without work out ?because im so busy all day
Answer: If you are someone who struggles to put on weight, the last thing you want is a workout that that revs up the metabolism. I understand being busy and it is rough. However, there has to be a way to fit in a workout 3x a week. If you don’t have time/funds for a gym, look up best home/office workouts to help gain mass. For you, keep the reps low and don’t speed through. If you’re slammed at worked and worried about a block of time for workout, don’t worry. Your body type is better suited to take breaks between reps so you are lifting heavy in a safe way. Do the 5x5 routine if you have gym access. Remember. Low reps (no more than 5 reps in the set) and heavy weights. I know it sounds harsh and I don’t know your life, but if you can’t find 30 minutes 3x a week, you just aren’t in the position to change anything about your body. I wish we could just drink something and do nothing else with results but there is no magic bullet. I’d say this is pretty awesome in terms of value per calorie and the time it will save you from going to get all that food, prepare food, cook, etc. My 16 year old is taking this and feels the same way with school and work. He feels he doesn’t have the time to workout. It just depends on what you really want how important it is right now. I told him if he truly can’t find the time, he isn’t as serious about growth as he says. It’s that simple. -
Question: will a high intensity sport like basketball plus weight training, 5 days a week lessen the effectiveness of this product??
Answer: The guy who says this causes cancer is lying or is just ignirant. Some other supplements may but even at that mant studies don't say which ones. Powder prorein supplements do not. As do many men, i don't use this product for muscle gain. I use max muscle for that. I use this for belly fat gaining. -
Question: "Servings per container: 8" Really??? So one serving is 3/4lb of powder?
Answer: one serving is 2 cups but it suggests doing half servings. -
Question: How many servings in the 6lbs package?
Answer: One serving is two heaping scoops, and there are about 8 servings. I do around 1.5 servings/day (1/2 at mid-morning, 1 post-workout), and get through a 6-pound tub in 6-8 days. -
Question: Im 6'1 and 160 pounds at most. I work 50+ hrs a week,s lifting metal fireplace frames/mantle pieces all day long. What will be the effects sustained?
Answer: This product is a high-calorie weight gainer. Results will depend on your diet of food, your exercise/work program, your metabolism and many other factors. -
Question: i really need to know form a current user if i would really gain weight minus lifting because i have a hectic life ? am really skinny btw
Answer: Yes this will help and it doesn't bloat like a lot of products. For you I would try to figure out with an app how many calories you take in a day, add 500 calories to that each day. This should cause you to gain about a lb a week if you are in a calorie surplus. For "hard gainers" it's not as simple, a lot of times guys think they are eating more calories in a day than they are so an app to record them can help, once you get to a point where you figure out what you need to maintain your current weight, an increase of at least 500 calories a day plus the protein will help you gain weight. If you are lifting weights you need protien or you are just wasting muscle instead of gaining and same if you in too much of a calorie deficit. It's not as difficult as ppl think and for guys who can't seem to gain weight have a Endo test your thyroid and free testosterone levels to make sure both are fine, also have protien, calories, good fats within 30-50 minutes after lifting, use this in the morning, after lifting, at bed time, using half servings can be easier to drink but you will need to drink more times a day I just make a full serving and keep in the fridge and drink as much as I can at a time. Best of luck but this can help or you can use protien powder to make your own calorie dense shake by blending 1 cup oats to a powder, with 2 scoops protien, 1 banana, 2 tblsp PB, 1 tsp coconut oil, 8oz whole milk and you could add ice cream as w -
Question: Does this taste anything like muscle milk?
Answer: Not really, it's a mass gainer so you're looking at 1200-1600 calorie shakes. If you take it with milk it's not far from muscle milk, but if you take it with water it taste kind of like that yahoo chocolate drink. I would still order it if you're looking to gain mass. Nothing beats that price for that taste.
