The Mediven Assure Donning Butler is an economical aid to help you put on your compression stockings. This device really helps if you have problems bending at the waist. Just stretch the stocking over the central metal frame almost to the heel. Make sure the heel of the stocking is toward the back of the butler pointing towards you. From a secure sitting position step into the stocking until your foot is on the floor then gently pull the butler up by the handles. Don't over stretch the stocking. Question: What can i do if i don't have the strength in one arm to stretch the compression stocking over the semi circle initially? (then, i'll do ok.)
Answer: I really don't have a good answer for you. When I first started wearing compression socks, I had great difficultly stretching them and then bending down far enough to get them on my feet. I had to get someone to put them on my foot. Then I could pull the rest up myself.. This may be your answer. Have someone else stretch them over the device so you can then put your feet into them. I know it hurts to have to depend on someone else, but there are times it is necessary. -

Question: Does this work well with thigh-high compression stockings?
Answer: I wore the thigh high after surgery .I CAN tell you that it helped me pull them up to about my knees and then i was on my own but they helped me that far.they are so tight I was grateful for any help -
Question: Is this one considered large? Or sm/med?
Answer: I would consider it medium. The large one has longer arms to pull up with. -
Question: Can this be used to remove the stockings
Answer: No! My husband cannot pull the stockings off without help. This is only for putting them on. Which works great for that purpose. -

Question: Will this work for compression pants hose?
Answer: The primary benefit of this hosiery butler is with difficulty getting the foot in iinitially with new Medit stockings, which are the tightest when first taken out of the box. Pulling the stockings up the calf and the hip are not a problem for me. Mine are thigh high compression stockings. My son prefers a pant hose unit that has only one compression stocking for the one leg that needs it. There are videos on Youtube that show how to use this butler. If you watch them you will see that they could be helpful for pulling the stocking up to the knee only. For panthose you would need to use the buttler for your feet one at a time. Good luck! -
