Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: What concentration of arabinogalactan is your larch standardised to? what species of larch? much appreciated!
Answer: Thorne's Arabinex is standardized to 85% arabinogalactan concentration, and the species of larch utilized are Larix laricina and Larix occidentalis. -
Question: Can you mix this with a protein powder?
Answer: Yes, you can mix Thorne's Arabinex with a protein powder or protein shake. There will be no negative effects of mixing it in this manner. -
Question: Is this product gluten free and non gmo?
Answer: Yes, it is Gluten Free and non-GMO -
Question: If there are 4 grams of carbs per scoop, why are there only 10 calories per scoop? 4 grams of carbs = 16 calories. One or the other is incorrect.
Answer: Both the carbohydrate content and the calories listed on the Arabinex product label are correct. Not all carbohydrates provide energy sources as measurable in kilocalories. Arabinex provides a functional amount of soluble fiber, which would not contribute to the total caloric content of the material. The arabinogalactan source of fiber does not meet the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be listed as fiber in the Supplement Facts box. For this reason, the calculation of carbohydrate-to-calories does not accurately apply to the caloric content of Arabinex. -
Question: What are the ingredients? the label isn't displayed
Answer: Sodium is not added as an ingredient- it is part of the substanc -
Question: How much fiber per scoop? It is not listed anywhere.
Answer: The arabinogalactan source of fiber does not meet the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to be listed as fiber in the Supplement Facts box. -
Question: Which larix spp, please? hopefully occidentalis (from western north america, there being other north american species as well.)
Answer: The Larix species used in Thorne's Arabinex are Larix laricina and Larix occidentalis. -
Question: Does this contain any Proposition 65-listed substances?
Answer: In 1986 – almost 30 years ago – due to concern over exposure to toxic chemicals, California voters passed a citizen initiative, the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, or, as it’s now universally known, Proposition 65. This citizen-based initiative, which is now the law in California, requires the State of California to publish two lists of chemicals – one list of chemicals that have been shown to have a risk of causing cancer in animals or humans, and a second list of chemicals that have been shown to have a risk of causing birth defects or other reproductive harm in animals or humans. The two lists, which are updated once a year, have grown to more than 800 chemicals since they were first published in 1987. The two Proposition 65 lists encompass a wide range of both naturally-occurring and man-made chemicals. Listed chemicals include ingredients found in pesticides, insecticides, and construction materials, as well as ingredients in common household products like foods, drugs, and alcoholic beverages. We suggest you google Thorne Prop 65 and California Government Prop 65 for a thorough understanding of the toxins and level of concern involved in these warnings.
