Question: The description says it has a K shaped base but both sides look the same distance apart. What are measurements of the legs?
Answer: To my untrained eye, it is more of an 'x' shape. I have had five canes in the last year and a half. Three of them were the same manufacturer: two of these canes failed. The fourth one was too cumbersome, with a difficult handle. This one has fared the best for me. The base makes it very balanced. I experienced immediate collapse on the first cane described once I released my grip. The Hugo almost never falls when I release it; often times it will waver while standing, but it usually maintains its upright position. I am so confident of it staying upright that I can hang a briefcase, grocery bag or backpack on the handle and it will not tip over. The base is bulky when having to go shopping; it takes room in the grocery cart, but that is a small problem. (I can use the cane to pull forward any products that may be on the top shelf at the grocery). The only detriment is that the rubber feet seem to be starting to wear down .It would help to know where they may be replacements available. I don't think there is another cane I would want to use. -
Question: Are these q and a’s pertaining to the vive adjustible quad cane? does it come in black?
Answer: Do not buy this cane very unsafe DO NOT BUY VERY UNSAFE -
Question: Does it stand up on carpet? And can it be used to help you up from a seated position?
Answer: Yes, it does well on low-pile carpet. Yes, I used it to help aid myself up and down from a sitting position while recovering from a severely shattered ankle. However, while it is quite sturdy it still is a cane and has limitations as such. When I needed more help with mobility and aid where the support structure was guaranteed to bear my full weight without moving, I used a walker. -
Question: Can it be used on stairs
Answer: I haven’t used it on stairs, and I don’t think I would! -
Question: How long or tall is it
Answer: It’s adjustable for any height. -
Question: Can you walk up stairs with this cane?
Answer: The size and placement of the feet on this cane are a problem. It is possible to use on stairs you must use great caution. -
Question: Which hand do you hold the cane in if the hamstring injury is in the right leg?
Answer: The left. You want the cane to be opposite the injured leg. This will give you more stability when walking. -
Question: Will the handle hold on over my Drive walker?
Answer: there is no hook on this cane to keep it from sliding off -
Question: How is this cane for ankle surgery or hip replacement for use in limited space house?
Answer: My house is small to. I use it for standing yoga poses, the base is not that big so it shouldn’t be a problem. Get well soon -
Question: My aunt is 4’ 11” in height and she’s 78 yrs. old now. right handed. is this particular good for her height? thanks.
Answer: This cane is totally adjustable for height and for left or right use. It might be a little heavy for a very petite person.
