Question: Does this brand have a salty after taste? I recently purchased the NOW DGL tablets at my local store and they were nasty and tasted like salt.
Answer: We have not tried the NOW brand, but have not experienced an after taste with Rhizinate. If you are looking for a tasty option, another one to look at is their (Integrative’s) Rhizinate 3x which has a German chocolate flavoring. Hope this helps! -
Question: New Formula has same dosing directions and mg of ingredients, appears to add sweeteners?
Answer: Diane - sorry I used to take this product for some stomach issues I had....I probably would still benefit from taking, but my problem had lessened so that I stopped a while back and no longer take. It didn't matter to me if they added sweeteners or not, just as long as it diminished or completely resolved my stomach issues. Just depends on what battles you attempting to fight I suppose. I would expect Licorice to contain some sugars though as it is from a plant & also used to make licorice sticks. Doesn't mean it can't help with whatever you are taking it for. It helped me with my gastrointestinal problem of acid reflux. I still have acid reflux but I suppose it is more manageable now, so I just don't take it....probably wouldn't hurt though. -
Question: Are these gluten-free?
Answer: Yes, these are gluten-free. It has a reference to this on the third photo towards the bottom, the "contains no" statement. Hope this helps! -
Question: Why did the ingredients list change?
Answer: They switched to an improved DGL formula. -
Question: The only difference i see in ingredient list is adding fructose & another sweetner. directions & glycine & dlg remain the same but so more potent?
Answer: In mid-November 2018 the DGL in Rhizinate was replaced with the specific DGL extract used in research (known by the branded name of GutGard). As a result, the amount of extract per serving has changed to align with the dosing of GutGard used in the research (which is quite a bit lower). It can be confusing because it looks like it’s less potent, when it actually delivers the same benefits, because the raw ingredient is more potent per mg. Due to the increased potency of the clinically-studied DGL extract (GutGard) added to Rhizinate’s new formula, the product now requires less milligrams of DGL per dose to be effective vs. the original formula. Question: Is the German chocolate extra strength still available? I can’t find it!
Answer: We are sorry but the Rhizinate® 3X is triple strength deglycyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) German chocolate-flavored tablet is a discontinued product and iServe no longer has any inventory available. Integrative Therapeutics suggests Rhizinate Original and Rhizinate Fructose Free which offer the same, clinically studied dosage of GutGard DGL per serving along with additional glycine for healthy mucosal lining support.
