Question: Will these canisters work with the Iwatani Cooking Torch? I saw this listed in conjunction with the torch, however the torch says use only Iwatani.
Answer: If it's listed in conjunction with your torch, it should work. I bought a Primus which said the same thing and they work fine. I did check out product reviews and several people agreed. Hope this helps. -
Question: How refined is it, also if it has lead in it, I would not care it's for my soldering iron, but I'm afraid that over time it will get clogged.
Answer: This is food quality, so I doubt there's ANY lead in it. This is BUTANE, not PROPANE. The cans are very light and remind me of bug spray. If you're thinking of the heavy threaded propane tanks, these aren't them! :-) You could probably fill refillable butane lighters and butane soldering pens with it, though, with the right adapter. -
Question: How long will this canister last when using for heat ???
Answer: I would not use these for heat. Maybe in a pinch, if all you had was these, it could work. They don't put out much heat, and they don't last long. Get a Mr. Buddy propane heater and get 4-6 green Coleman propane canisters (16 oz). Then, get a 20lb grilling propane tank. Get an adapter, and when you run a tank dry, just refill it from the 20lb tank. 2 1lb tanks cost around $7-$14 right now. It takes about $10-$22 to refill a 20lb tank. That's roughly $1.20ish per pound. With the prefilled 1 lb Coleman tanks, that's about $3.50 per pound. That would be $7.20 per tank, or $15 for 2. If you refill those same 2 tanks from a larger tank, it would cost roughly $2-$3.75, much cheaper. However, you must exercise great caution when refilling propane canisters that aren't built for refills. You must have the proper adapter, it's highly recommended that you use a "Refillable" canister (they're built different as they can handle the stress of compression and decompression many times. And always do it outdoors in a well ventilated area away from people. And, always wear gloves, and perform wayyyyy far away from open flames/spark -
Question: will this work for lighters?
Answer: yes, i just used it. i have several candle lighters and a few torch lighters and a cooking torch. i had an adapter from an empty can of ronson butane and one of the cooking torches came with adapters. one i had the right adapter, i was able to refill pretty easy and quicker than with traditional butane cans. the only thing that bothers me is that it smells different, actually it stink -
Question: how long will a 8 oz canister last boiling water.......I need to boil water for 20 minutes to cook survival food
Answer: I have not done a test yet. I would suggest that you purchase one canister and do a test. Also remember that water boils at lower temperatures as you go higher in altitude. Putting a lid on the pot or using an insulated pot would allow you to keep the water at the boiling point with less fuel. So there can be variations on the amount of fuel used to keep water at 212 degrees F for 20 minutes. -
Question: Will these canisters work with a" Coleman Camp Bistro 1-Burner Butane"? Thank you!
Answer: The product info for the Coleman Camp Bistro says: *Lasts up to 1 hour and 15 minutes on a disposable 8.8 oz butane cylinder and these are 8oz. My guess is they would work. They do not list much information regarding the gas containers with the stoves. -
Question: How money cans r they ?
Answer: 12 can -
Question: Does anyone actually know if these will work with coleman® 1-burner table top butane stove? please don't bother with 'think so' or 'assume so'...
Answer: The Coleman® 1-burner table top butane stove is a generic canned butane stove made by an outsourced Asian manufacturer and with the Coleman name affixed. It is identical in every other way to the dozens of identical one-burner stove models made to operate on this industry standard canned butane fuel source. Aside from that I cannot answer your question as neither of the tabletop one burner butane stoves which I own and which are identical in size, weight, configuration, features, and operating instructions carry the label of Coleman. Of course it will work.
