Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: Is this created using animals in any way/is it vegan? Thank you
Answer: Methylcobalamin is not labeled as vegan and contains leucine. Leucine is an amino acid that is used instead of other flowing agents that can reduce nutrient absorption. The leucine Thorne uses is derived from duck feathers. The ducks that the feathers come from are not killed for their feathers; rather, their feathers are collected off the ground after the feathers fall off naturally. -
Question: What is the potency of these? How many mcg per capsule? (That crucial information.)
Answer: The potency is 1 mg for each capsule. Do check with doctor or other health professional for suggestion on dosage, etc. -
Question: I have read that cellulose is typically a gmo product. are these certified gmo free
Answer: Thorne Research does not contain any products that contain GMOs. You can read more about their quality standards at https://www.thorne.com/quality. -
Question: Can this be stored in a pill box?
Answer: Placing the contents of an entire bottle in a pill box or a baggie might cause the product to discolor or otherwise change in appearance. Unless otherwise indicated on the product label, Thorne recommends that its products be stored tightly sealed in a cool, dry place, such as a pantry or cabinet. Products should be kept away from a location exposed to moisture (such as a bathroom) or heat (such as above the stove). And be sure your hands are dry before handling your supplements and, whenever possible, store the product in the bottle it came in and keep the lid tightly closed. -
Question: has anyone retested their B12 levels while on this? help please.
Answer: Our child has annual blood tests as part of her medication reviews. -
Question: Dear manufacturer / seller, what is the source used to make b12?
Answer: Thorne’s Vitamin B12 as methylcobalamin is synthetically derived. -
Question: Does the throne sublingual b12 need refrigeration
Answer: Thorne’s Methylcobalamin does not need to be refrigerated. And actually, Thorne does not recommend it because moisture from the refrigerator can cause it to clump. The product is in a capsule so it is meant to be swallowed, not dissolved under the tongue. -
Question: Are these Acid resistant capsules?
Answer: No. Thorne’s Vitamin B12 is not in acid resistance capsules. The vast majority of nutritional supplements do not require enteric coating, and in fact, enteric coating could hinder the efficacy of the product. The need for enteric coating is limited to a few specific circumstances. Specific ingredients that can be damaged by gastric acid, like probiotics, sometimes require enteric coating. Other times, a formula is intended for a slower delivery in the gastrointestinal tract, so enteric coating provides a more controlled release. The only Thorne products that are enteric coated or provided in an acid resistant capsule are Thorne’s FloraMend Prime Probiotic and Bacillus Coagulans. Thorne believes the delivery format and nutrients utilized in our formulas are optimally absorbed in the digestive tract without the need for enteric coating. -
Question: Does this product contain corn
Answer: No, Thorne's Methylcobalamin product is not derived from corn.
