Question: Is it possible to disable the "talking" feature ?
Answer: YES! Take the back cover off and you should see a gray button. Press and hold this button until you hear the monitor go into "Settings" mode. The press the same gray button until it gets to the icon that looks like a speaker. Once that icon is on the screen, press the "M" button on the front of the monitor until you see the number 0 on the screen. The "talking" feature will now be turned off. Question: I want to buy this for my step-fathers aunt, she is legally blind and recently broke her shoulder. Is this device easy enough to use for her?
Answer: My wife has been totally blind since 1998. She got her first Prodigy meter years ago. She has had several because of wearing them out. This device is so easy to use, she does all of her own testing. I recommend this not only to the blind but to every diabetic person. BTW, there is also a pocket Prodigy that is great. -

Question: I see reviews reporting inaccurate readings, Has this been resolved?
Answer: I ordered this for my mother, she hasn't had any problems with the reading been inaccurate. She takes this to her doctor to have them check it against their reading and it has been fine. I hope this information helps. Joyc -
Question: Can this be used for dogs
Answer: I don't know if it can be used on animals, but we stopped using it because it gave inaccurate readings.
