Answer: This specific product number (01692-200) includes the 692 suretemp thermometer, #02893-000 4' oral probe, #21326-000 plastic wall mount, one box of 25 disposable probe tip covers (05031), and printed instruction booklet. Question: The words like "auxiliary" or "infant" disappeared from the screen, there's only symbols showing. Anyone know how to get the display back?
Answer: I believe a reset or recalibration is needed. -
Question: Can it be used outside the wall mount? If so is it easy to remove from the wall mount?
Answer: Yes, it can be used outside the wall mount. The wall mount is just a holder. The thermometer slides into, and is removed from the wall mount with ease, but it is just that...a holder. The wall mount is not required for use at all. This is by far the best thermometer I've ever used. -
Question: Is this the newest design model of the 692?
Answer: I think yes, because the box is new white style and it is sealed, the box is not old style brown color. -

Answer: Not sure but you can buy the parts from the manufacturer Like the outer shell screen and button -
Question: Is the reading accurate without a probe cover?
Answer: I recall, from the manual (?), reading that the instrument is tuned for use with the probe covers. I don't know the delta, but I doubt it is much of a difference. I use the covers to try to keep the probe at least clean, if not sterile. The covers don't cost much and the do that job pretty well.
