Question: Does the handle go in straight down the top or is it angled from the side?
Answer: Straight down to the head. -
Question: Were any horses harmed to make this broom?
Answer: Most horsehair comes from slaughtered horses. Hair for bows comes from tails of horses in cold climates, and is sorted by size. It comes primarily from stallions and costs $150-$400 per pound because of the sorting needed to extract long hairs. Mongolia produces 900 tons of horsehair per year. -
Question: Does it have a hang hole?
Answer: No it does not have a hang hole. -
Question: can you unscrew the head from the handle?
Answer: Yes, you can. By the way, I separated the head from the handle right after I received the broom. I lightly sanded it and sprayed spar varnish over the two parts. That may not have been necessary, but I wanted extra protection for it. It hangs on a wall under a covered porch. We experience a wide range of weather where I live. We have had heavy snow, sub-zero temperatures and dry humidity during the past week. In the summer, we have temperatures at times near 100F and oppressive humidity. I hope this is not too much information. I just wanted also to say that the wooden parts and the bristle have held up well outside. I am happy with it and it is durable. -
Question: Is this normal that there is no threads in the broom itself, only on the handle?

Question: IS this broom made by Redecker in Germany? There are a number of customer reviews that say this isn't made of horse hair - can you tell if it ?
Answer: It's definitely not made in Germany. A small pair of Chinese hands made this broom. I don't believe there's any actual horsehair at all. It's synthetic with stands of hairs that fall out with the first use. -
Question: how long is the handle of the broom. the handle in this picture looks small.
Answer: It is not small to the best of my memory. Our handle broke so I have a different handle on ours. Do love this broom!
