Question: What's the advantage over the same manufacturer's considerably lower-priced bariatric, model 11148-1?
Answer: It is light weight I am a big man 6' 1 " tall and 234 Lbs give or take a couple pounds and felt I needed the Heavy Duty one so I paid for piece of mind. If I slip mine holds me up never saw the light weight one so can not say the same for it. Have a good night ~james. -
Question: What are the dimensions of the seat, specifically the opening/inside hole? Is there enough room for a male to urinate when seated?
Answer: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. The dimensions are 8.25” Wide X 9.875” Deep Hope this helps, Thank you again, Luis @ Drive Link http://www.drivemedical.com/index.php/bariatric-folding-commode-18.html Item 11117N-2; Heavy Duty Bariatric Folding Bedside Commode Seat -
Question: Is this chair okay to use as a shower chair?
Answer: After owning and using this chair daily and knowing its quality, I would have no problems using the exact same chair in the shower. It is totally coated in rustproof textured light grey paint. I would make sure the water that might get into the connections can drain out the rubber booted leg caps by drilling a couple holes in their bottom to drain water from the tubing that might enter. Plan on using it like a solid seat bath chair, though. A support bar goes across the front, under the seat, which is elongated, but solid and not split in the front, so you will probably want to sit on the closed seat lid, but do take the bucket off so it don't fill with water. Too wide to fit in a tub, so in shower stall only. -
Question: Has the bucket ever fallen out on to the floor while sitting down going to the bathroom, spilling everywhere?
Answer: I did have the handle come off once while emptying the bucket, but it’s never just fallen out of the toilet. I don’t really feel that’s a possibility. -
Question: my father has difficulty getting uo from regular toilet. How high is this seat and if it needs to be adjusted higher does it lower the weight capacity
Answer: the legs can easily be changed to adjust the height of the seat. The height of the seat does not affect the weight capacity. I have problems getting up from a sitting position as well. After I was paralyzed during hip surgery, I depend on this commode for daily use and have so for about 2 years. This is a very sturdy commode and does not feel flimsy while standing or sitting. it is very steady and sturdy. I have been unable to use the frame over a household toilet since the surgery, but prior, it worked very well and so much better than those plastic risers that tend to feel wobbly when using. the frame also adds the arms which come in very handy when you need to steady yourself, or need help in rising from a sitting position. -
Question: Only have a 26'' width space. Can this chair be adjusted to 26'' width?
Answer: On the model I have (which matches the picture at left), only the height seems to be adjustable. -
Question: Can you please give me the measurements of the seat width and width between the arms?
Answer: Side-to-side between the arms is 23". This is a VERY sturdy and well-made product. Lightweight and very easy to move around as needed. Even at my heaviest (close to 400 lbs :/ ) I had, and still have, complete confidence in using this seat. I have it over my bathroom toilet as the toilet is one of those really short ones and I am six feet tall, which means I do not need assistance to go to the restroom. -
Question: Can this be used over an elongated toilet with the safety shield and without the bucket?
Answer: I think it can as long as you have enough clearance. Also, you will probably need some type of splash shield or guard. You might have a maintenance person cut the bottom of the bucket off. THis would create a discharge chute for all toileting activities and elimate potential splashes of bodily waste. -
Question: Se cambia de altura?
Answer: Si, 40.6 hasta 56 cm -
Question: Does the pail really have a 12quart/3gallon capacity?
Answer: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. Yes the bucket does have a 12 quart capacity.
