Question: Is this Methylcobalamin?
Answer: Yes it is. It's natural and the following explains why you should use it: Methylcobalamin differs from some other forms of B-12 because it is natural and appears to exhibit significantly greater activity, bioavailability, and absorption than its synthetic B-12 counterparts (cyanocobalamin). Synthetic forms must be converted into active B-12 in order to perform any health-promoting biological actions. This conversion process reduces nutritional efficiency, adding to the other challenges of getting sufficient B-12. B-12 absorption decreases and B-12 deficiency escalates as we grow older. In fact, approximately 15% of those aged 60 or over are likely deficient in B-12. The natural methylcobalamin form's superior bioavailability may be especially beneficial in populations who have difficulty absorbing vitamin B-12 because of advancing age or health issues. -
Question: other ingredients please ??
Answer: I haven't used this product for quite awhile. As far as I remember there are no other ingredients. I used this product for my dog and it really helped her periphial neuropathy of the back legs (she was diabetic). I truly believe that this product extended her life by at least a year and a half. She was a lab-mix and weighing about 65 pounds. I feed her twice a day and injected her with insulin twice a day for over eight years. I think I put one dropper full in her food both morning and night. I hope this helps. -
Question: This company produces 2 B12 products: B12 5000 liquid, and another that just says B12. Can we assume that in THIS CASE, "5000" means that the potency is 5,000 micro-grams (5mg) ? The other product doesn't state it's potency. There is a lot of difference between 5,000 and "unknown" (I'm guess its 1,000)
Answer: Hello Northwoods Nut...Your assumption is absolutely correct. B12 5000 is 5,000 micro-grams or 5MG. The less expensive product, B12 is 1,000 micro-grams or 1MG. I just called Pure Encapsulations and verified that information with them. I opted for the B12 5000 at my doctors recommendation because my B12 levels were painfully low. All the best to you! -
Question: Is this 100% methylcobalamin?
Answer: Pure Encapsulations - B12 5000 Liquid® is made entirely with methylcobalamin. However, in a liquid form it interconverts with hydroxycobalamin. At any given moment, some percentage is hydroxycobalamin and some is methylcobalamin, but the percentages change as well. Therefore, it offers both forms, but is made entirely with methylcobalamin. -

Answer: Pure Encapsulations - B12 5000 Liquid is both Gluten free and Dairy free. -
Question: Does anyone have before and after blood labs showing significant change or no results from this?
Answer: I do not do blood labs. However there are many options when it comes to Vit B. Also have heard some people gain weight. However. I take a dropper full when I need energy and to feel better. I don’t believe it stays in your system all that long. -

Answer: Pure Encapsulations - B12 5000 Liquid does not contain a significant level of carbohydrate/calories. Carbohydrate is an FDA mandated item for the supplement facts panel. Carbs must “be listed when they are present in measurable amounts. A measurable amount is an amount that exceeds the amount that can be declared as "zero" [0.5g] in the nutrition label of conventional foods, as specified in 21 CFR 101.9(c)”. Pure does not list carbohydrates on the B12 5000 Liquid label therefore, the amount is less than .5g. -

Question: I would like to know if the item is kept cold when delivered? B12 liquid should be kept cold and be refrigerated... Can someone please let me know?
Answer: It has not been kept cold AFAIK. I have had good results by keeping it in the plastic wrap and storing it in a dark drawer, that's opened about 3 x /day. I like it because it seems to be just as readily absorbed as a sublingual tablet, in much less time. Do hold a dropper in your mouth as long as is practical, before swallowing, swallow half, hold it a little longer, swallow it all. The insides of your cheeks, your gums, and to some extent your tongue, all help the liquid to get to your blood stream almost immediately, instead of having to be processed by your stomach.
