Question: Can you use your regular toilet bowl cleaner in addition to the tab into the tank, or must you stop using cleaner until the tab has completely melted?
Answer: Thank you for contacting us! We do not recommend using toilet bowl cleaner while the Iron Out tablet is in the tank as you do not want to mix the chemicals. Wait until the tablet has fully dissolved before using a toilet bowl cleaner. -
Question: I like the gallon liquid version...to refill the spray for indoor use...but will outdoor version work on toilets?
Answer: Yes, this Will work on toilets. The odor is extremely poisonous so make sure you have fan on and window open. -
Question: Will it hurt your shrubs or grass
Answer: Over spray will not hurt grass or shrub -
Question: Can you use Iron Out on painted driveways?
Answer: Iron OUT Outdoor is not recommended for use on painted objects, including driveways, as the product may cause damage to the dyes within the painted surface. -
Question: Would this work in stained stove iron grills?
Answer: Iron OUT Outdoor has not been tested for use on this particular surface. Iron OUT is formulated to remove surface rust stains caused by iron laden water and is not intended to remove any other types of stains. -
Question: I’d like to apply this to 10-inch-ish landscaping rocks that are rust-stained. I’d like to use the roller option, therefore, What do you recommend?
Answer: Iron OUT should be pretested first to determine compatibility. Iron OUT may be either applied with a tank sprayer then wiped on the surface with a brush, cloth or roller before rinsing promptly and thoroughly. Iron OUT should not be allowed to dry on the surface. -

Question: Will this remove rust from white river rock in landscape bed?
Answer: Iron OUT Outdoor is safe to use around vegetation and on most exterior surfaces including: aluminum, vinyl, chrome, wood, metal siding, vinyl siding, concrete, masonry, stucco, brick, paint, fiberglass, glass, stone, granite, limestone, marble, paint, rubber, slate, stainless steel, plastic, asphalt and more. Iron OUT Outdoor is ideal for applications such as driveways, sidewalks, poolside, decks, fences, boats, docks, outdoor equipment and much more. 1) Apply solution with tank sprayer, roller, cloth, sponge or brush. 2) Allow stain to disappear. 3) Promptly and thoroughly rinse sprayed area and plant/lawn of any overspray with fresh water. Repeat if necessary. Note: Always pretest a small, inconspicuous area and allow tested area to dry completely before applying to a surface. Work in small areas starting at the bottom and working up. May leave a white residue on dark surfaces unless rinsed off promptly. Do not allow cleaner to set any longer than necessary to do the job. Do not apply to paint, stains or surfaces that contain iron oxide pigment. Avoid applying to glass as prolonged exposure could cause etching. -
Question: Can you use this product to remove iron out of pool water
Answer: There is no mention on the label about using it for this purpose. However, I wouldn't swim in water treated with this. It works great for removing hard water rust stains from outdoor surfaces (walls, siding, concrete), such as that caused by sprinklers using well water. It has warnings not to use without protective gloves and goggles, and you shouldn't breathe the vapors. It can cause chemical burns on the skin. I guess you could use it to clean rust stains from an empty pool, but I would wash it well before refilling it. This product is for outdoor use and is pretty strong. They also have a powder product for indoor use such as rust in toilets or in the laundry. But there is no indication on either product that they should be used to treat water that you are going to swim in. -
Question: Can you use Iron Out on painted driveways?
Answer: Iron OUT is not advised to be used on painted surfaces.
