Answer: No, mine does not have the 2 minute timer. -

Answer: Yes to batteries; don’t know about 30 second alert. Maybe mine is too old. :) -

Answer: Does not have a timer -
Question: Does it have a brush head cover ?
Answer: No cover. I use peroxide to rinse the brush from time to time. -
Question: Can I get this with a soft brush?
Answer: No. Just apply lesss pressure. Brush is not very hard. -
Question: Is this gentle enough for a 4 year old child to use?
Answer: I would think so, depending on the brush you use. For a child that age I would use the one for siincitive teeth. -

Answer: Yes, it does. -
Question: Is a special tool required to change the brush head?
Answer: No, it can just be pulled off/pushed on.
