    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: When in the day do you test for most accurate results?

Answer: I tested around 6:30 in the morning and again between 5:30pm and 6pm, just because that's what worked for me. I've read that you should test every 12 hours as ovulation can occur at anytime and you may miss it by only testing once a day. I have PCOS therefore my cycles aren't "normal" and where someone with a normal cycle may test positive on day 14, I didn't test positive until day 18. For example, recently I tested in the morning and got a negative but tested in the evening and got a positive, which stayed positive all day the following day. These tests are great for the price because you may find yourself using a lot of them until you know when you'll be ovulating and can then start testing a little later. Such as my doctor has told me to start testing on day 11-12, I now know that I could wait a few more days. It's all trial and error. Good luck.
    • Question: Can you find out that you will be ovulating soon or do you only know on the actual day you are ovulating? If you find out you will soon be ovulating, how far in advance?

Answer: The ovulation test only detects high levels of LH. The rise in Lutenizing hormone is what triggers release of the egg, which can happen around 12 to 36 hours after the spike in LH. So the ov test will tell you if your LH levels have risen to trigger ovulation, but it doesn't guarantee that ovulation actually occurs. This is why charting basal body temperature and cervical mucous is important in correlating when ovulation actually occurs. BBT will rise at least one half degree Fahrenheit 1-2 days after ovulation occurred. The rise in bbt is a guarantees that ovulation took place but it can't be used to predict ovulation, only confrm that it happened.
    • Question: Does this test have to be taken in the morning or can I take at any time of the day?

Answer: You can take it several times a day. The day I finally got pregnant I tested multiple times that day and then proceeded when the test was most positive. After 2 years that is one of the things that finally helped.
    • Question: So Im still a bit confused. When I get the positive test result should I wait 6-24 hours AFTER the surge ends to try and conceive?

Answer: So ovulation occurs 24-36 (maybe 48 h) h post LH surge. But it is best to have the sperm already in place prior to ovulation so sperm can meet the egg. I would suggest trying 0-24 h after you see the surge. As you may or may not have read the surge may be a little tricky to catch as the test lines will look positive a couple days before and after the surge. When you get a positive test line test every 6-12 hours. Keep the strips and line them up in chronological order that will help determine when the peak LH occurs- typically test line will be just as or darker than the control line at the peak. Good luck!
    • Question: Should you see a pattern throughout the month?Should your lines gradually getting darker or are they random until you are ovulating (a dark line)?

Answer: Some see theirs gradually getting darker. Mine do. Within about three days prior to the LH surge I do see a light line on the positive. Remember though, any color or shade not matching the control line is a negative. This is important information for women going through IUI procedures. For everyone doing the baby dance the natural way, the gradual darkening line might help. If you see a light positive you should baby dance every other day until you get a true positive. You need to baby dance within 24 hours of seeing that dark, true positive strip. Once the LH surge is detected your egg will be released in about 24 hours time. Some like to be sure sperm is there waiting for the egg when it travels through the fallopian tube. Good luck
    • Question: Is it really important to use room temperature urine while testing? used other brands for Lh test strips but,and was never directed to use rm tp pee

Answer: I used bodily-temp urine when testing and worked fine. I stored them at room temp, but not for the urine.
    • Question: Can you just pee on the test strip, or do you have to use a cup to collect the urine like the instructions say?

Answer: I would definitely use a cup. I use those bathroom water cups you can buy like 200 of for a few dollars. The test strip is quite small, only has a small area that should be immersed for 3 seconds, and has another area which is not supposed to become wet.
    • Question: I have had multiple days of positives from day 8-15 so far on a 25/26 day cycle. How do I know she "the O day" really is? I am confused

Answer: Hello, could you be pregnant by any chance? I had the same thing happen and it turned out that I was pregnant. I had a miscarriage two months before and thought maybe my hormones were still leveling out, but a pregnancy test determined I was pregnant. I'm now about 3 months in. I've read that sometimes the ovulation test shows positive when you are pregnant but it is very rare, in my case it positive ovulation test was a because I was pregnant. I used these ovulation tests for many many months and never had anything like that happen, so I can honestly say that I do trust them, but wouldn't completely rule out that they could be wrong. I personally got more accurate results with these tests than any other. Hope this helps, and IF you are TTC, I hope your pregnant...or get pregnant soon! Good Luck!
    • Question: If i have two lines the same color this means i will ovulate within 24-36 hrs? what if these lines stay constant over multiple days? how do i know whn

Answer: Theoretically yes. I got same results, so I had sex for next 4 days and conceived.

Spend the extra 2-3$ and get the @home ones
They read lower than my easy@home ones and didn't line up. They do work just numbers are lower.

    Works great
We do Marquette method of natural family planning and these have successfully helped us avoid pregnancy for almost a year now (when used with the proper algorithm!). I initially used the Clear Blue monitor to check against the LH stick, and the results matched every time. I don't need the CB monitor now that I know I can trust these. Plus, the CB sticks are SO expensive!

    Nice, Clean lines
I figured these products were all the same as the top rated ones had no differences in appearance and it's a generic quantitative immunoassay, but I was wrong. I finally decided to try a new brand after the other brand I was using kept getting more and more splotchy (premom by easy@home) making it difficult to tell if it was positive or not. These produce clean lines that make it easier to tell if the OPK is positive or at least very close.

    Worked
I used this brand and Premom and clear blue all at the same time and this was just as accurate as the others.
