Question: How big are these capsules? I cannot take large pills.
Answer: About the size of a 200 mg ibuprofen. Also, I open the capsule and drink it in a glass of water. Works for me. -

Answer: My Naturpathic Physician has me taking 4 capsules daily (but it is the B12 FOLATE...not the B12 Folic)....after she tested my blood for the Mutated DNA gene.....MTHFR. -
Question: Why does this now contain 'ascorbyl palmitate'? My old bottle does not have this and this is a man made chemical. Why has this changed? ~Cathy
Answer: Pure Encapsulations B12 Folate has always contained a small amount of ascorbyl palmitate and has been on the label under other ingredients. If you have a picture of the label that does not mention the ascorbyl palmitate, Pure Encapsulations would like to see it so they can bring it to the attention of their quality team. The ascorbyl palmitate is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil. This process starts with isolating dextrose from corn (a sugar, so does not contain allergenic corn protein), which is then fed to micro-organisms. The micro-organisms produce these nutrients, and the nutrients are then isolated and purified away from the starting materials. While no corn proteins or sugar remain in the final product (and Pure has tested with negative results), Pure Encapsulations does not routinely test for corn allergens and therefore they would not be able to guarantee its safety for someone with a corn allergy. Pure Encapsulations uses ascorbyl palmitate in many of its products to help with the encapsulation process. It was chosen as the best possibility because it is also offering vitamin C support. Ascorbyl palmitate is a fat-soluble analog (palmitic acid ester) of ascorbic acid. In the body, ascorbyl palmitate is easily hydrolyzed in the gastrointestinal tract and absorbed as ascorbic acid and palmitic acid. -

Question: Are these synthetic or made from animal product?
Answer: The Metafolin®, as L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate (L-5MTHF), is synthetic and the Methylcobalamin is produced from corn dextrose fermentation. There are no animal products in the B12 Folate.
