Question: How do you clean these? Can you just throw them in the wash?
Answer: I actually jut washed one in water, no soap. It's still effective but not as much as it was. They work so well I'd buy them and when they get too dusty just throw the away. I love these cloths! -
Question: Are they safe to use on a high gloss piano?
Answer: Not an expert on that surface label says use every where you find dust. -
Question: The description says 60% cotton. the ones on walmarts sight says 100% cotton. which is it? and if it's 60 prtcent, what's the other 40%?
Answer: The packaging does not specify the amount of cotton. It only says “Treated Cotton”. I used to dust with 100% cotton diapers, and besides having my allergies go into overdrive, the dust was visible again within a day. I have been using the Guardsman Dusting Cloths for about 7 years now and these cloths do not aggravate my dust allergies. Best of all, my furniture looks dust free for at least a week after use. I use these cloths on my fine furniture and lacquered piano with confidence. -
Question: Can these be used to dust, clean Tiffany style stained glass lamps?
Answer: I agree that lead came should not be cleaned with ammonia based cleansers, but I use windex on my copper foiled stained glass with no problem. As for Guardsman cloths, also no problem to use their standard dusting cloth, but the wood furniture treated cloth should probably not as will cause a mild film meant for a shine on actual wood. -

Answer: Guardsman Dusting Cloths are treated with a proprietary mixture of mineral oils and waxes. They are treated in such a way that they leave no residue behind as they remove and capture dust and small debris. Guardsman Dusting Cloths have been independently analyzed and certified asthma & allergy friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America and Allergy Standards LTD. -
Question: how long does the treatment last, how many rinse and drys?
Answer: Many rinses and dries. When they start to lose their “grip,” I wash and then add some lemon oil. They can be used for several years. -
Question: What are they pre-treated with?
Answer: Mary, for basic dusting on wood furniture that has a finish on it, these dusting clothes work pretty good. Not sure what it’s treated with. Probably some kind of wood polish. If you’re cleaning antique wood furniture that doesn’t have a glossy finish on it, then these clothes are not that good for that purpose. I discovered a product called “Howard Feed N Wax” which is the best wood polish/wax that I’ve ever used. I believe this product is available at Home Depot or maybe other hardware stores. For cleaning glossy type furniture, a microfiber cloth will do the job nicely. -
Question: What are these clothes "treated" with? Does is state on the package?
Answer: Some kind of oil but it works great!!!!!
