- SIZING - To choose the correct size, measure the circumference of the lower part of the calf muscle. Petite Adult / Pediatric fits up to a 15” calf circumference. The average adult will fit up to a 20” calf circumference. Large Adult/Bariatric fits up to a 25” calf circumference.
- REMOVABLE GEL PACK - The gel pack keeps the ankle cool and can be used to further reduce pressure on the ankle.
- ADAPTABLE STRAP - It has an adaptable strap that allows you to secure this device in two alternative positions. The bottom position controls dorsiflexion. The padded Velcro closure allows for easy application and removal. Additionally, foam-padded sides protect the lateral and medial malleolus, bony prominences on either side of the ankle.

Question: Would it fit around a cast for sleeping?
Answer: It may seeing that there are velcro adjustable straps across the top -
Question: Does it come as a pair or just one boot?
Answer: It is one boot because it is a piece of equipment. When you purchase a special shoulder sling because of an injury, you don't require a sling for the opposite shoulder. Likewise, this boot is is designed specifically for pressure sore recovery or prevention. That doesn't mean you automatically need it for the other foot, where those issues may not be a concern. -
Question: Is the outside of this boot soft enough that it won't make a sore on the other foot?
Answer: Yes, the boots are very soft and cushiony. Our only concern has been the edges of the straps. There are two on each boot. The cushioning doesn't wrap around the strap and the fabric along the edges is a bit sharp. You must just be aware of this when they are being put on and taken off. But they are working very well for us otherwise. -
Question: Does the bottom of this product have a rubber sole/heel for slip resistance?
Answer: The bottom does not have a rubber sole. I would not use this type if this person need to walk. You will need a walking boot type. -
Question: How long it from heel to toe? I need to protect my 99 year old Mom's toes as well as heels.
Answer: About 11.25 inches from heel to toe. I wear a size 11 shoe and it was fine for me. It was designed for heel protection, but if her foot is very large her toes may stay below the edge. Look at the picture of the product it appears the toes are slightly above fabric edge. So her may fit below. I will say you assemble the "foot gate" to custom fit. It is very light, I had pressure ulcers which turned into deep tissue injury. I couldn't stand the weight of a sheet on that foot. It is designed for folks to lay on their back. There is no walking in it they advised. Velcro straps are there for a custom fit at the ankle. I sorry to hear about your mom. I hope this helped I don't have to use mine any more.
