Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: How much of this is real oil vs. mineral oil? With the low price, I'm guessing that there is very little lemon oil.
Answer: In response to Francine ( 5years ago, but still...) This product is actually 90-100% MINERAL OIL, which IS a petroleum distillate. I don't know if maybe Francine meant to say there is no LEMON OIL, which is true, but there is MINERAL OIL. It's actually very similar to baby oil, it seems, with just a different fragrance. There are warnings about ingesting baby oil too. Mineral oil isn't toxic itself, but there is danger of aspiration pneumonia if it is ingested. -
Question: does it come in a glass or plastic bottle?
Answer: Plastic bott -
Question: How do you use it? mix with water?
Answer: Hi -- Do not mix with water -- this product is ready to use -- apply the product to the rag and use on your wood surface. Thanks for the inquiry. Ken -
Question: Work on White painted cabinets?
Answer: No. It would not penetrate the paint. To clean those, I'd say just some soapy water; or squirt of windex. mb -
Question: how do i add to cart?
Answer: Not right now. -
Question: is old english lemon oil safe to shine formica table top from 1950's?
Answer: I don't think it would be appropriate for formica. Old English is made for wood. I think there would be a better product out there. -
Question: Can use on old leather on top of table?
Answer: Definitely on table top. Unsure of leather as it has a wet application and sitting in it may damage clothing. However, I use it on baseboards and counters. This is a good product. You will be amazed how long one bottle lasts! -
Question: For how long can you smell the lemon oil odor after it is applied to furniture?
Answer: The lemon smell is evident during application but disappear shortly thereafter. However, I must say the shine this product leaves on furniture is outstanding. -
Question: Is this safe for shellac finished wood?
Answer: I am sorry I don't know if it is safe for shellac or not. The idea of this oil is to soak into the wood & revive it from the inside out. It is my understanding that shellac is used to seal wood & therefore the oil won't penetrate leaving you with an oily dust attracting piece of wood.
