Wax Polish Black Bison Paste is ideal for nourishing and protecting all types of wood, including lacquers and French polishes. Made from a blend of waxes, including high quality carnauba wax, it provides good resistance to finger and water marks, and is ideal for small surfaces. Well-known for its quality and pleasant, distinctive aroma, it feeds, polishes and helps to prevent wood drying out, and has traditionally been used on antiques. Giving a highly lustrous and hardwearing finish, as well as helping to cover marks and scratches, it will enhance the natural beauty of new wood, and is safe to use on toys and is silicone-free. |

Question: Is it food safe (to use as a finish on wood salad bowls)?
Answer: As a professional woodworker, I do not recommend using any wax on surfaces that come in contact with food. The best finish for items such as salad bowls and cutting boards is a product marketed as salad bowl oil (there are several), walnut oil, or even mineral oil, which you can get at any pharmacy. -
Question: I have cherry cabinets in burgundy. Which color is closest? Thanks.
Answer: Just neutral would be fine, if your cabinets are in decent shape. This is a very fine furniture wax — one of the best in the world — with a very decent smell, unlike some others. Apply liberally, wait 20 minutes, and then remove the excess with 0000 steel wool and polish with a soft, lint-free cloth. -
Question: I have high gloss piano black stairs. Could the black wax be used on stairs? Does it dry hard and not slippery?
Answer: Yes, but I’m not sure I would ever wax stair steps. -
Question: The clear is actually yellow in color is that correct?

Question: I have an oiled walnut cabinet with open grain. I used to use a walnut paste wax to restore luster. Will this work?
Answer: Yes, this will work fine. I don’t do super large areas at a time because polishing can be a lot of work if you let too much set up at a time. But this is a wonderful quality wax that will do what you’re looking for. -
Question: Will neutral change the color of a bright white table?
Answer: Probable. It will go into grain and be dark. -
Question: What color is yew?
Answer: I would say a medium brown tone. -
Question: how does this compare to Liberon Beeswax? Is it better, different? What kind of wax is in it?
Answer: It an extremely fine wax that handles beautifully. I'm a professional furniture craftsman and It's my favorite for working with. I believe it is a synthetic wax. They used to have a museum wax which had a bees wax content and was my favorite. I don't believe they sell it in the US anymore. Briwax has carnauba and bees and is extremely fine as well. I think Liberon polishes out easier. I prefer Liberon - it has less yellow tint. I often apply multiple coats of wax directly on wood as my finish never using a sealer. That's an old world technique. -
Question: I'm looking for a fairly dark tint with a reddish tone. Is the Georgian Mahogany the right choice?
Answer: I would say a warm brown ton
