Question: Is this supposed to be used for every cycle? The video shows it being put in the dispenser but directions say to add it at the bttom of dishwasher?
Answer: Thank you for reaching out to Summit Brands regarding our product Glisten Detergent Booster + Freshener. This product may be used for two reasons: To freshen and remove spots during the wash cycle AND To perform a light dishwasher interior cleaning. To freshen and remove spots, 1/4 cap of Glisten is added to the bottom of the machine. Glisten neutralizes odors as dishes are being added. When dishwasher is ready to be run, add your normal detergent to the detergent drawer and run the dishwasher on a normal cycle. For periodic light dishwasher interior cleaning, add 1/2 cap of Glisten to the detergent drawer then run dishwasher on a normal cycle. Glisten provides light cleaning as it removes odor-causing build-up. -
Question: Does this contain bleach?
Answer: Glisten is specially formulated to freshen and clean the dishwasher interior without using bleach. The product SDS sheet is available for viewing and printing from the Summit Brands website: www.summitbrands.com. -
Question: Does this get rid of the cloudy or hazy residue left on dishes and glass from hard water?
Answer: Yes it does, I ran out of Glisten and my glasses were spottie and cloudy, I will not run the dishwasher without it. I just love this stuff....... -
Question: can this be used in a sink for handwashing dishes??
Answer: I'm reading the back of the box - it says it's an eye & skin irritant and if it comes in contact with skin to rinse with water for 15 minutes (a long time in my opinion). It also says not to mix with other cleaners, so I would imagine that means liquid dishwashing soap like Dawn. I would suggest not using it to wash dishes on a regular basis. You could soak dishes in it I suppose and use rubber gloves to rinse them off. I know rubber gloves and slippery glass items probably means a few will slip and break. Bottom line, I probably wouldn't advise using it for hand washing dishes. The box only makes reference to dishwasher uses only. It says you can also put it in your "empty" clothes washing machine and run it to eliminate odors. -
Question: Will this replace Jet Dry or is it safe to use both?
Answer: In addition to the tablet cleaner, I added Glisten to Jet Dry to soften the water. So, I have experienced no issues with using both. Has removed water spots effectively. I use for every load
