    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: Is this protein cold processed? Would assume so if it is RAW but want to make sure, and also ensure there is no acid-processing.

Answer: I hope this helps..."RAW matters because heat can denature proteins, reducing their availability to your body. But Garden of Life’s Certified Organic plant proteins are different—always gently produced at low temperatures, without any added fillers or carriers, preserving their complete amino acid integrity and whole-food, Certified Organic, Non-GMO goodness".
    • Question: what countries are these ingredients sourced from? Is China one of them?

Answer: It is not clear where their ingredients are sourced from but according to their website, they set a great standard for testing all products for pathogens, microbes, metals, etc. http://www.gardenoflife.com/Our-Company/Good-Manufacturing-Practices.aspx If this link doesn't show up, you can find this information on their website about all the things they test for. I would not be concerned if anything came from China with the extensive testing they do. They once recalled a multivitaming because it came in contact with a soy protein and those sensitive to soy could have had a reaction. I would say that was a pretty good concern and they tackled it. Compared to other companies out there, I wouldn't hesitate to use GOL. Why don't you call them and ask?
    • Question: I ordered the Vanilla flavored powder, it has a really strong "Play-Doh" type taste and smell. Could this be a bad batch?

Answer: I have one of their other products, Organic Plant Protein Grain Free. The vanilla it horrible. I just opened and smelled it, YES, a Play-Doh smell. I tried to add it to my waffle mix, from scratch, and I could not stand the waffles. I will try the unflavored since I want to add it to food.
    • Question: Can you just shake this up with the liquid of your choice or do you have to mix this in a blender? While I don't mind blending my husband likes easy.

Answer: Yes you can use a blender bottle to mix this up with liquid. Although, it is MUCH better when you use a blender because this powder can get pretty thick. Add some frozen berries, maybe a banana as well, and some almond milk and its sooooo goood and really quick to make.
    • Question: Is there fiber in this product?

Answer: Hi, Julia, Yes, RAW Organic Protein has 1 to 3 grams of Dietary Fiber per serving, depending on the flavor. RAW Organic Protein Original, Vanilla and Vanilla Chai have 1 gram of Dietary Fiber per scoop, while RAW Organic Protein Chocolate has 3 grams of Fiber. I hope this helps! :) Thanks, Noelle K. Garden of Lif
    • Question: does it contain any caffeine?

Answer: Hi there, Raw Organic Protein Chocolate contains 7mg of naturally occurring caffeine per serving. However, none of the other flavors contain caffeine. I hope this helps! :) Thanks, Noelle K. Garden of Lif
    • Question: I take it this Is not gluten free?

Answer: It is Gluten and Lactose free.
    • Question: May I please see the product nutrition label with calories, fat, sugar, etc.? Thank you!

Answer: Hi there, You can view the Nutrition Facts panel for RAW Organic Protein in the Product Images section for each flavor. I hope this helps! Thanks, Noelle K. Garden of Lif
    • Question: What is the sodium content per serving?

Answer: To see labeling inaccuracies from an independent third-party laboratory, see here: https://labdoor.com/report/garden-of-life-raw-protein Total fat was measured at 0.6g/serving, where no fat content was claimed by the manufacturer. Total cholesterol was measured at 1mg/serving, where no cholesterol content was claimed. Total sodium was measured at 18mg/serving, where no sodium content was claimed. Total calcium was measured at 30mg/serving, where no calcium content was claimed. Total sugar was measured at 0.1g/serving, significantly below its 1g label claim. Total protein was measured at 71.1g per 100g of product. A 23g serving will yield 16.4g protein, which is only 3.8% below its label claim.

    Decent plant-based protein powder
This protein powder is decent overall. It has a good taste but sometimes doesn't mix as smoothly as I'd like. It's a bit expensive compared to other options, but still a good choice for those with dietary restrictions.

    Great protein powder!
I absolutely love this protein powder! It tastes great and mixes well. It's also a plus that it's vegan and free from soy, dairy, lactose, and gluten. Highly recommend!

    Best vegan protein powder!
I've tried several vegan protein powders, and this one is by far the best. The chocolate flavor is rich and satisfying, and it doesn't have any artificial aftertaste. It's also gentle on my stomach.

Chocolate contains stevia and alcohol sugars
I find it really deceptive when a company touts “no sugar added” but then sweetens with ingredients like stevia. I originally bought the unflavored version because I have been eliminating sugars and sweeteners from my diet, and I loved it. Good texture, great ingredients. Took a long time to find a protein at that caliber. But then I switched to chocolate, not thinking to read the ingredients label because in my mind the only difference should be the addition of chocolate flavor. Flavor does not equal sweet. Not a good sweetness. If you add it to smoothies like I do, you won’t be able to add any fruit because it will always taste too sweet. Please be more transparent with your labeling your products. Something like “Sweetened with _________” right on the front of the package.
