Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: I have missplaced my contour blood testing units downloading cord. How do I get a replacement?
Answer: I do not even know what a downloading cord is. If you are talking about the charging cord, You could probably get it through the manufacturer. -
Question: How to know whether to buy level 1 or 2 of control solution. my system came with levet 2. is this the one i use all the time?
Answer: Both CONTOUR® Next Control Solutions (Level 1 and 2) are for use with CONTOUR® Next meters. This aqueous glucose solution contains a known amount of glucose and simply adding a drop of the solution to a test strip delivers results to verify test strips and meters are working properly. Level 1 checks the accuracy of the lower range of results while Level 2 checks the accuracy of the middle range of results. The different concentrations of glucose, allow you to check for test result accuracy at multiple glucose levels for any given batch of test strips. Simply apply a drop of your chosen CONTOUR® Next glucose control solution to a test strip and run a standard glucose test. Confirm that the test results are within the accepted range printed on the test strip vial for the level of control solution you selected. -
Question: what does "no coding" mean on box? Is that the solution?
Answer: pertains to not having to CODE like with the solution in other meters - the strips they give you require coding of the glucose strips to the meter. The Blue Solution. With this meter, right out of the box its ready to use - do not have to use the solution for the strips they provide you. They do provide their own solution (its red in color) but not necessary. it is 100% accurate. I have this meter bought myself, as my insurance doesnt cover. I prefer 100% accuracy so will pay for the strips myself. Hope this helps. -
Question: Can I use #7308 test strips with this Contour Next meter?
Answer: Yes, the four-digit number on the package varies depending on strip quantity. All Contour Next Strips are compatible with all Contour Next meters. If you have any additional questions, please contact our Customer Service Team at 1-800-348-8100 (Monday through Sunday, 8am – 12:00 Midnight, Eastern Time) or feel free to visit the Contact Us page on Contour Next website for additional ways to connect. -
Question: The jabby thing has 5 levels. How do I know which setting to use?
Answer: Start on the lowest number and work up from there on your lancing device (the jabby thing) to make sure you can easily drawing enough blood for the test strip. I’ve always used the highest setting 5 but most people use between 2-4. If it hurts bad enough you’ll figure it out. I’m surprised your doctor hasn’t gone over this with you. I’ve no longer use diabetic finger stick kits but wear a doctor prescribed CGM (continuous glucose monitoring system). -
Question: is this model settings can be changed to mmol/l instead of mg/dl?
Answer: No. -
Question: How many strips can the meter read before it dies? 100. 200? I am on test strip 135. I have 65 more strips.
Answer: Thanks for reaching out! Batteries should last approximately one (1) year or one thousand (1,000) tests.
