Question: How long are the gas tube cleaners?
Answer: I would say that they are around two foot long my at has the standard 16 inch barrel and they are plenty long enough to clean out the gas tub -
Question: Do these cleaners leave behind lint? I'm using these for something other than a gas tube.
Answer: No it doesn't, but keep in mind that these cleaners are designed for Gas Tubes. If your using them for other purposes that have a smaller diameter then yes it may be possible. Other then that you should be ok. -
Question: What is the width
Answer: 1/8 th inch -
Question: is the wire lead free?
Answer: looked at the ones i had gotten. there are 2 strands of wire used. put a lighter to the wire and glowed but did not melt. hopefully they dont have lead since that is what you are trying to clean off. hope this helps. -
Question: Will the gas tube have to be removed to use these?
Answer: No, when you remove the upper and bolt carrier group, the end of the gas tube will be exposed. Just run the pipe cleaner in the back of the gas tube. There will not be a lot off residue in this area when cleaning your AR. I suggest that you watch Hickock 45's you tube on cleaning an AR. He makes it real simple. -
Question: Will these work to clean a piston AR?
Answer: I suppose you could find a use in cleaning a piston gun for these pipe cleaners, they were designed with cleaning a direct impingement gas tube - which get exposed to the gases that a piston system normally does not. So you could use them to clean a piston gun, they are not intended to. -
Question: Do these have hard bristles
Answer: They have soft brist -
Question: is the wire lead free? using for craft project.
Answer: Just steel wire and cotton... -
Question: What is the diameter in mm of these? Can they clean writing pen cartridges?
Answer: I would guess they are about 2mm wide, and will compress down to about 1mm. They are about the size of the part of a Q tip. Not the fuzzy part but the I guess you could say the handle of a Q tip.
