Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: What are the arsenic levels in the rice bran used here?
Answer: Less than 1.5 ppm (this is the upper limit--it could be zero). -
Question: Why does this product have guar gum, when its inflammatory ?
Answer: It does have partially hydrolyzed Guar Gum 8g per serving. Not sure if this helps. -
Question: is this wheat free/gluten free?
Answer: Yes. Thorne does not use any gluten ingredients. -
Question: Just received my order and the container has a funny smell -- similar to rancid cooking oil. Is this normal?
Answer: Thorne’s FiberMend is formulated with partially hydrolyzed guar gum, rice bran, larch arabinogalactan, apple pectin, and green tea phytosome. We would expect a pleasant starchy odor, but would not expect the smell of rancid oil because the fat content in FiberMend is minimal. -
Question: what is difference between Medibulk and Fibermend?
Answer: I have never tried medibulk, but Fibermend works really nice for me, it's almost tasteless (if you add it to juices or shakes), it just make easy the bowel movements and is painless. -
Question: Is there supposed to be a scoop included? Mine didn’t have one and i don’t know how to measure it correctly.
Answer: Yes it should have had a scoop. I just measured a single scoop as 2 tbsp. So one serving is 4 tbsp. -
Question: The label says that one scoop has 6g of soluble fiber. How much of this is viscous soluble fiber, the type that binds to cholesterol?
Answer: Thorne’s FiberMend contains soluble fiber derived from guar gum, rice bran, larch, and pectin. Although we do not assay for viscous fiber content, these fiber types would provide a significant source of viscous fiber. -
Question: Some of the older comments say that the product contains soy derivitives. Is that still true? I don't see which ingredient would have soy.
Answer: We have discussed your concern with Thorne directly and have confirmed that the Thorne FiberMend is soy-free. -
Question: Does this produce a glutinous drink?
Answer: No, I mix it my morning hot drink and that has not been an issu
