Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question: I dropped a small drop of acetone on my dining room table and it took the finish off. Will this cover that spot? Has anyone tried it?
Answer: It likely will cover it but go easy - layering is best - otherwise you might get one dark spot. So be patient with the application but it should cover it. -
Question: I have light oak floors with polyeurothene and some surface scratches from dog traffic. Will this workk?
Answer: I tried it on my light floors. Even though it says for light woods, it made the scratches way to dark. It warns not to use on blonde wood. It worked wonders on my furniture though. :) -
Question: what woods are considered light wood when buying Old English scratch remover
Answer: I use Old English scratch cover polish for light woods on ash, maple and some pine furniture. I have been using Old English for many years. Dark and lemon. Nourishes the wood to prevent cracking from drying out as well as covering superficial scratches. -
Question: Is this polish actually made in china?
Answer: It says Made in USA on lab -
Question: I have found that this stuff doesn't last. I put it on...looks great...a week later back to look bad. Anyone know something like this that will last
Answer: I agree with what SiliconValley David wrote - in my case, it's about a month and then the damage starts showing again. Too bad that this doesn't last longer than a month! -
Question: Is this safe for a table top?
Answer: If you are asking if it is food safe, I can't answer that. I used it on a wood side table that had a big scratch in it and it worked wonders. -
Question: Does the light wood one smell like almond? i thought i had one with almond oil but i can't seem to find it anymore.
Answer: No almond smell. It smells like you expect a furniture polish oil would. -
Question: Does this work on laminate flooring?
Answer: I would not put this on a laminate floor myself. It is for furniture and real wood products. -
Question: Does this work for white painted wood?
Answer: I'm sorry but i don't know the answer to that question. But as a guess, I would say probably not. It is meant for wood that has not been painted. -
Question: Can this be used on engineered wood flooring?
Answer: Y
