Question: How sturdy is the handle ? Is it for tall person, i am 1.85m. Is it durable enough for daily cleaning?
Answer: It's sturdy. Made of good quality hard plastic. You can bear down on it and scrub tough areas with it and it won't snap. I am short, but I think it would work plenty well for a tall person too as it's quite long. I think you would like it. The mop head is held on by velcro and their are lots of velcro dots holding the pad had on sturdy. I've owned one of these before and will buy another if needed. -
Question: The mop is nice but I find the mop head way too floppy when I try to put some muscle in the mopping. It ends up flopping over. Is that normal?
Answer: I've used Bona for 5 years now and never had issue with the head flooping over. We have all hardwood floors and frankly my thought is that you are putting too much muscle into it or, you are pulling the mop back too close to your feet and too long of a stroke. If you have spots that need a bit more rubbing, make your strokes shorter out in front of you and against the grain of the wood. Then finish with a long, soft motion with the grain. A good polishing every couple months or so makes regular cleaning much easier too. I would not use any other system. -
Question: is the cleaning pad machine washable?
Answer: Yes! I used to wash them alone, but now I just put them in a mesh laundry bag and wash with my other clothes. (To keep the lint/fibers from other materials collecting on the cleaning pad.) -
Question: I saw an online review, and it mentioned 2 different Bona models - one with a spraying mechanism, one without. What's the difference? Recommendation?
Answer: I've never used the type with the spray, but I'm sure it justs spray a solution you make on the floor in front of the mop head. I use the blue mop head on my Bona Microfiber Floor Mop with a Bona floor care product for my hardwoods, and the white mop head with Clorox Cleanup on my tile floors. There's no messy mixing and pouring involved. -
Question: Do you use the dusting pad first and then use the spray with the cleaning pad?
Answer: I definitely dust my wood floors prior to using the cleaning solution and pad. Not dusting first will just move the dust and dirt around. I want it as clean as possible. -
Question: Is the mop handle in 2 or 3 parts?
Answer: The one I have is in two parts. The connection is awful, it immediately broke and I had to repair, but I love the mop! -
Question: How do I keep the ends of the mop pad from flopping under, every time I pick up the mop? Just bought this, & am already frustrated trying to use it.
Answer: We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. The Velcro does not go all the way to the front corners of the base, so the pad can flex and fit more easily into the corners during cleaning. Best regards, Bona Customer Care Center
