    Product Description

    Overview

With QuikClot Advanced Clotting Gauze, you have the power to stop bleeding in the palm of your hand. Tested and proven through years of combat use by the U.S. Military, QuikClot can be depended on to save time when every second counts. The hemostatic gauze works on contact to stop bleeding by accelerating your body’s natural clotting process, clotting blood five times faster. This pack contains two gauzes impregnated with kaolin, the same technology used by the US troops to stop even the worst bleeding wounds. Kaolin activates fibers in the blood plasma – makes them sticky, traps platelets and stops bleeding fast! Inorganic and inert, kaolin is non-allergenic, making it safe and effective to use. QuikClot’s extremely absorbent gauze is flexible and pliable, easily contouring to wounds and allowing you to get them to the nearest medical center. Make QuikClot a part of your trauma pack or first aid kit so you’re prepared when emergencies occur.

    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: The photo shows one large pouch with two 3x24 strips and two other pouches apparently with one each of the same product. Total 4 at this price?

Answer: No, total 2 at this price. The big pouch contains inside the 2 smaller pouches, therefore you can open one by one.
    • Question: how is this different from gauze from the drugstore?

Answer: This 2 pack of QuikClot Gauze is impregnated with Kaolin, the same technology used by the US troops to stop even the worst bleeding wounds. Kaolin activates fibers in the blood plasma – makes them sticky, traps platelets and stops bleeding fast!
    • Question: What is the package size on each strip?

Answer: There are two 3" x 24" strips of QuikClot Gauze in the package.
    • Question: I am trying to minimize the weight of the first aid kit i use only for day hikes. will i need a wrap for these or can i use it to do both jobs?

Answer: The clotting pad I purchased does not come in a wrap. I think the Israeli type bandages are for heavy trauma and designed to wrap. I would recommend ace bandage long enough to wrap around torso, shoulder/chest.
    • Question: does it contain the aluminum chloride?

Answer: I see nothing to indicate that it does I see only one ingredient kaolin
    • Question: Does the expiration date actually mean that the item is no longer effective or is it just a way of having you buy more?

Answer: By law these products must have a expiration date printed on them but it does not mean the product will no longer work it just means that passed that date the product may not be that effective as a fresh one but I've had experience with new and old expired ones and haven't seen a difference in performance I'd recommend keeping it about 2 years after the expiration date then consider renewing.
    • Question: Is this packaging small enough to fit in a ankle kit (afak)?

Answer: There are different pad sizes, some will fit.

At the end of our year, we had money to use in our FSA account. I used it to buy first aid supplies. It’s one of those things you hope you never need but you’ll be happy to have if SHTF.
