Question: Do you use these in place of dryer sheets?
Answer: Yes! While they do not coat the fibers of your laundered items in any chemicals, they do help with reducing your drying time and softening your laundry! They typically do not help very much with static because they are not putting any type of lubricant on the clothing like fabric softener does. We recommend for static to use 1/4 cup - 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar in your rinse cycle (it can go in your fabric softener cup) or pinning two very large safety pins on the mate to a missing sock and leaving that in your dryer. It will break the static bonds. I hope this helps. You'll love the balls! Ours are 100% wool to the core and the real deal. We were one of the first companies to sell them and they are wound very tight and last for years. XO -
Question: I just got my wool dryer balls today, i opened them and i smell sheep. i know they are made with 100% wool, will it make my clothes smell like sheep?
Answer: YES. My clothes straight up smell like sheep. I’ve never had this experience with dryer balls before. This was after the first use so maybe it’ll get better...? -
Question: How big are they? Are they loud in the dryer?
Answer: They are a little bigger than a baseball. You can hear them but it's not too loud. The difference in your clothes is worth it. -
Question: How can the laundry balls be cleaned? My dog found one that must have found the floor...
Answer: I'm not really sure. If it were me I'd throw it in the washing machine with a load of laundry. -
Question: is it made in China?
Answer: No! Our wool balls are hand felted in Nepal. The organization we have is wonderful! They give free child care and good wages to the women that work for them. The owner is an entrepreneur himself, and is Native to Nepal. Thank you! -
Question: Being that they are wool, I will not get itchy using these?
Answer: I don't think the wool particles attach to the clothing. I never had any problems w/ itchiness. -
Question: How is this “certified vegan” if this is an animal product? Veganism is the abstinence from all animal products and bi-products.
Answer: Hi! Our wool is sourced from New Zealand, (not Australia where they still tend to not practice humane shearing) and we are Certified Cruelty Free. However, even though our sheep are sheared as needed and not off season, some vegans will not consider it “vegan” because it is an animal product. The wool from the sheep we use though are sheared humanely and only during the shearing seasons. Hope this helps! -
Question: Just wondering if you needed to place the wool balls in a sack while drying with clothes? 1 or two at a time?
Answer: Oh no :) The goal is for them to lift and separate the laundry as it tumbles... so you want to use all three balls at a time and allow them to be free inside the dryer! Great question!
