Question: how does tincture compare to powder
Answer: 1 capsule = 500 mg; 1 dropper full of tincture=500 mg; there is 2 differences. The capsule is precise measurement, the dropper is hard to get full. The tincture is easier for me, as I don't like to swallow pill, I can drop the tincture into my ice tea and down it goes. -
Question: Does this product use dual extraction: hot water and alcohol?
Answer: Host Defense extracts utilize Paul Stamets’ comprehensive Double and Triple Extraction Methods: 1. Hot Water Certified organic fruitbodies of Reishi, Maitake, Turkey Tail, Lion’s Mane and Shiitake are hot-water extracted to pull out polysaccharides (e.g. beta-glucans, glycoproteins, and other high-molecular weight compounds). 2. Ethanol Mycelium and fruitbodies are extracted with certified organic ethanol, which isolates antioxidants (e.g. terpenes, triterpenoids, inositols, ergosterols, sterols and myco-flavonoids). 3. Cold Water Pure, filtered water is used to extract extracellular metabolites from the living mycelium within the temperature range at which the fungi’s native immune systems are most active. -
Question: How many dropperfulls do we need to make 3000 mg?
Answer: Can't imagine why this good brand has customers guessing. On their website they indicate that two capsules is equivalent to one dropper which equals 500 mg -but we still have no idea of the mg of ACTIVE INGREDIENT per ml: "Daily serving suggestions are basically equivalent; 2 capsules or 1 gram per day or 2mL at 1 ml twice per day". Since there is a typo (instead of to) we can't be sure if 1 ml contains 500mg or 1,000mg. I am guessing one dropper is 500 mg? -
Question: Just received the liquid. Taste horrible. Any suggestions? Know it is a very good supplement.
Answer: Yes good natural medicine tastes terrible (no wonder so many people consume junk food). Pour the extract in hot water (not boiling) and wait for the alocohol to evaporate for a few seconds. You may add raw honey if taste is still too bad for you -
Question: Why is mg per ml unlisted?

Question: Is this better than the lion's mane mushroom capsules from hot defense ? what is the difference ?
Answer: capsules are in general a better more potent dose form than tinctures. that being said, we have both tincture & capsules ready for prompt shipment from grounds for tea -

Answer: This is made from mycelium. -

Answer: No, this doesn't need to be refrigerated. -

Answer: One dropperful per day is usually enough. -

Answer: I use about 3/4 of a dropper full each day. I think it says 30 ml, but I don't measure, some days a little more, some a little less. But it is working great for me.
