    Product Description

    Overview

The DMV Classic Hard Contact Lens Handler is used for the removal and insertion of Gas Permeable and Hard Contact Lenses. Simple and effective for removing hard and RGP contact lenses. Moisten the cup of the DMV Traditional Remover and gently touch it squarely on the contact lens. The contact lens will adhere to the soft suction cup and will come off the eye easily. After the lens is removed from the eye, gently slide it from the suction cup. The DMV Classic is an excellent choice for Ortho-K lenses and newer large Scleral Lens. Comes with tough clear plastic storage tube. Can NOT be used for Soft Contact Lenses. FAQs: Q. What is the best way to clean a DMV product? A. The manufacturer recommends the use of warm soapy water for washing our natural rubber products. Harsh chemicals should be avoided and petroleum products could cause the rubber to swell. The rubber products may be autoclaved or radiation sterilized. Do not autoclave the case as it may become distorted. Q. Does the rubber cause allergies? A. DMV's rubber formula contains dry powdered latex. It contains no liquid latex. The proteins that cause allergies have been neutralized. Independent laboratory testing has found no detetectable allergens contained in the final vulcanized product.

    Customer Questions & Answers

    • Question: When it says "Vented" does this mean a hole in the suction cup end and the other end or only the suction cup end?

Answer: These don't have the hole on the end, they have it only on the cup side. They look exactly like the pictures in the product page.
    • Question: what is the size?

Answer: from the top to the bottom is about 1.25 inches in length. Edge to edge on the suction cup is .25 inches across. I use mine on gas perm hard lenses.
    • Question: How often do you replace this?

Answer: They are made of rubber so just wash them if needed and use. I have been using one for more than a year and it’s great.
    • Question: Anyone tried this for monthly/yearly circle lenses? Mines are not soft lenses and I have toric lenses for astigmatism.

Answer: I use it with long term toric gas permeable contact lenses and it is great.
    • Question: Do these work for soft contacts too?

Answer: Hi. These are made more for hard and rigid lens. I think the suction would be too much for soft contacts.
    • Question: Do these come with the case? I had previously ordered a few of the plungers, but really want the case for travel, purse, etc

Answer: Yes, bit these aren't like the other blue and orange ones. I actually called the DMV company and ordered 6 that came with the cases and only paid around $12.
    • Question: This question is for anyone who has recently purchased these… do they come in their own individual cases?

Answer: Yes they are in individual cases.
    • Question: Anyone tried this for monthly/yearly circle lenses? Mines are not soft lenses and I have toric lenses for astigmatism.

Answer: I use this for CRT GP lens. I still think using bare fingers is best and quickest if you have a steady hand. I have mild astigmatism and moderate myopia, my GP prescription does not need the correction for astigmatism because GP lens are hard and round and by default corrects light entering into my eyes for astigmatism. Hope this helps.
    • Question: Can these be used to remove daily contact lenses?

Answer: I found that these VENTED contact lenses removers were much less efficient than the non-vented removers for my hard sclerl lenses.
    • Question: Is there a hole in the suction cup to help remove the lens?

Answer: I have not used this yet but yes there is a hole. It is smaller than I expected..we shall see.

    Greatest little tool
it took me about 20 minutes per eye to get my contacts out. With this little plunger it takes less than a minute. I just put an eye drop in to make sure the lens is wet and place the plunger over the irus and they come right out first try. my eyelids don't hold open wide for more than a few seconds and with this tool, it's fast enough to grab them in time. I'm so glad that I was bale to find the right ones that work for me.

Good item to have when you wear hard contact lenses
I tried it out with a relative's contact lenses, and it works perfect. It is a nice item to have if the contact lens sticks to the eye.
