Question: What does the term "therapeutic grade" mean? What other grades of essential oils are there? Who sets the standards for therapeutic grade? Thanks
Answer: There are 3 grades of essential oils - therapeutic grade is the highest quality, and contains no synthetic additives or other oils (of any type) to dilute it down, or improve the aroma. Chemical testing is done to determine the composition of each batch created, and should be available by the supplier upon request. "Pure" essential oils can contain other oils (carriers or essential oils) that extend the product, or alter the scent. It is therefore not considered good for use in aromatherapy, because sometimes the additives are not really good for that purpose. The final grade is food grade, and used to flavor food and beverages. The FDA does not have a standard for essential oils, nor do they determine the grades. The FDA only enforces regulations that forbid anyone from claiming that essential oils are medicinal treatments, unless they are health practitioners. Sandalwood is a rare tree, and the oil is made from the resin, so true sandalwood essential oil is very, very expensive. This particular product has the price of a fragrance oil,so even though the label says it's therapeutic grade,I highly doubt it is. I would expect to pay over $100 for true therapeutic grade sandalwood essential oil, in a 5ml bottle. -
Question: Sandelwood is an extremely expensive oil, how is this price possible?
Answer: It is diluted with jojoba oil. You probably should dilute the oil to use anyway. 70)% jojoba oil, which is pretty stable to 30% essential oil. -
Question: The sandalwood is so weak its like its been watered. Down! Has anyone else had this problem?
Answer: I mix it with 2 drops of Lavender and the scent is extremely pleasant. -

Answer: That's my favorite soap. I'd say yes, that this oil smells like a condensed, sweeter version of the soap. So, adding as scent for laundry detergent, I'd add a patchouli base. -
Question: I removed the cap to find some kind of plastic stopper in the bottle. How do I get the liquid out?
Answer: The stopper is a flow regulator, just tip the bottle and the oil will come out. One drip at a time. IF you need to, you can remove this plastic regulator, just be careful not to spill. -
Question: Which species sandalwood is in this, the 10ml version has in the description Caledonia Sandalwood?

Answer: No. It is not 100% essential oil. There is 70% jojoba oil in it. They have changed the formula. I had to order from another company to get 100% sandalwood oil. -

Answer: It says premium on the label. Not sure how different that is from organic. All I know is it has a wonderful aroma!
