Question: Is this good to walk with on? I need it to get in and out our patio door
Answer: grooves in the ramp make it non slip to walk on so it should be good as long you are not going up too much of an incline. -
Question: What is the difference between modular and threshold?
Answer: Good afternoon- I am not sure what you are specifically asking. You can get a threshold ramp that is modular in which you can add pieces or you can get a threshold ramp that is fixed for a specific rise. Question: Can this be used to extend the low end of an 8' ramp, to reduce the angle of incline?
Answer: It depends on whether the 8' ramp is from this same manufacturer and how high the high end is. Probably best if you go to the manufacturers website and e-mail them your question. -
Question: I bought a 4 inch, but now realize i need a 5 inch rise. can i buy the one last section i need or do i have to buy a whole new system?
Answer: You can definitely order the 5” piece. But you have to order it directly from express ramps. This is something I just had to do for a customer of mine. I went to install it for them after they had ordered and received the 4” ramp kit. -
Question: Municipal code is 1inch for every 12 inches of rise. Shouldn’t this be 21 inches minimum in length?
Answer: This threshold ramp is to accommodate between a .75 inch and 1.25 inch rise. As for the rise to run ratio, yes, for ADA compliance you would need 12 inches of ramp for every inch of rise, but for non-ADA required thresholds (personal or home use) you can get away with 6 inches of ramp for every inch of rise. Question: Looking to use this on a pull down construction trailer door to bridge the gap when door is open.. Will this threshold hinge 90 degrees upward?
Answer: Hello Paula, Unfortunately this TRANSITIONS Modular Entry Ramp will not hinge at a 90 degree angle. Depending on your application you may consider a TRAVERSE Walk Ramp to bridge the gap depending on the length of gap you're talking about. Thanks, The EZ-ACCESS Team -
Question: why won't you sell 3 ramps? I need two ramps to clear the carport base and one to get in my back door.
Answer: I suggest another ramp as this one is not sturdy and has no protection on the sides to prevent sliding off the side of the ramp. Speaking from experience! -
Question: Can this be used to help a robot mop across thresholds?
Answer: No. The ramp is just that - a ramp. It goes up 4 inches from outside to a doorway to bridge the space for a wheelchair to enter the house.
