    • Question: Is the tip rubber?

      Answer: The tips aren't rubber, but are a plastic that has gripping ability. I have been very pleased with mine.
    • Question: Can, you bring cans of food,?From the back of a shelf?

      Answer: Hello: Yes, you can use the grabber to reach and bring cans of food from the back of a shelf. I would assume the can would not be too wide or too big. The grabber can hold up to 10 lbs and 5"-6" wide object, however, I would suggest no more than 5 lbs as it would stress your wrist and your hand so much to hurt you. Hope this helps. Thanks!
    • Question: Is the squeezing mechanism easy to manipulate? For instance for someone with arthritis.

      Answer: I have arthritis in my hands and the mechanism is easy and pain free to use.
    • Question: Can this pull down blinds?

      Answer: I have trouble getting a grip on the plastic end to pull. Once I do that, if I jerk it, I can usually make it work. I have considered remote control blinds.
    • Question: Do these fold?

      Answer: No. They do not fold.
    • Question: Can these be used as a mail hawk?

      Answer: Works great as grabber. I am not familiar with the expression "mail hawk" so cannot say.
    • Question: How do tighten the metal post? It has a screw in there. Do I turn clockwise or counter clockwise?

      Answer: clockwise, its a regular screw.
    • Question: Is the plastic thumb piece replaceable?

      Answer: I am not sure what piece you are talking about. I can’t believe any piece is that fragile. Have one of these in every room with no problems.
    • Question: Are the rubber jaws hard plastic, or slightly resilient for extra grip? Can the linkage between the trigger and the jaws be tightened if it goes slack

      Answer: The Jaws are hard plastic and pretty strong. Can pick up fairly heavy objects. The linkage is a cord with no give so it should not go slack; however, if it does it could definitely be tightened.
    • Question: The black channel that covers the string always falls out. How can prevent that and what’s causing it to separate?

      Answer: I HAVEN'T HAD THIS PROBLEM AT ALL, BUT IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANY ZIP TIES I WOULD PUT ABOUT THREE DOWN THE LENGTH OF THE ALUMINUM SHAFT. YOU COULD ALSO TRY PINCHING THE ALUMINUM SHAFT DOWN ITS LENGTH AS WELL.
