Question: at the end/tip, are the small black teeth section and the lower,yellow part of the gripper mouth made of rubber or plastic? thanks.
Answer: The black side of the gripper is rubber with a little softness for grip. The yellow side is rigid plastic. I had a very similar grabber and a one piece arm that worked well. I did not like this folding model because there is nothing to hold the 2 halves of the arm together. Everytime I attempted to pick up anything with any weight the halves of the arm separate leaving the device useless. Great idea - poor design! -
Question: Does this stay folded when not in use?
Answer: Yes it's a folding reacher. Once you fold it stays put. -
Question: When the granber reacher is open is their a latch to secure it?
Answer: Yes....The button to unfold the reacher can be positioned & locked in several positions. -
Question: Would the 26 inch length be suitable for a person who is 5'4" to pick things up from by their feet without having to angle the tool at a weird angle? The one she has now is, according to her, too long.
Answer: Hello: Yes, 26" length is recommended for someone who is 5'4". Do not buy 32" reacher as it will be too long for her. Hope this helps! -
Question: When the reacher is straightened out, is it strong enough to pick up pants and to pull them up to my knee so I can reach them?
Answer: I have been pulling pants on with this reacher daily for more than 8 months. Could not be without it! Takes a little practice & some patience... -
